Mazda Trucks Kick A*s! — This was my dad's second Mazda B-series. He bought it from the original owner in 1998 when he was stationed in Norfolk, because he wanted a pickup to haul stuff around in and a commuter vehicle. It had air-conditioning, unlike the 1986 B-series, and it blew ice cubes. It had the LE-5 luxury trim package, which added alloy wheels and pinstripes, but not much else. I do believe it had anti-lock brakes. In terms of handling, it's a pickup, so it was no sports car, but it was pretty fun to drive. It had a five-speed manual transmission and a peppy little 4-cylinder, so it was good on gas. It did develop a nasty oil leak, and it overheated once, in addition to surviving a rear end collision with a Chevy pickup, but it was very reliable.

Pros: Reliable, decently fuel efficient, cheap and easy to maintain, sharp looks, goes anywhere and does anything.

Cons: Suffered from surface rust, leaked oil, no airbags.

Wouldn't Die — It already had close to 170k miles when I got it, but the thing ran flawlessly the entire time I owned it. It was silver, faded to gray and loud after I cut the muffler off when it rusted out. The interior was perfect too, the only thing that didn't work on it was the air conditioning. Not that I would have used it much anyway, the truck was completely gutless. The only reason it was manageable was because it had a 5 speed. One of my most fun cars.

Pros: Never broke.

Cons: WEAK engine.  I think it was rated at 120hp.

It Mostly Does What I Bought It To Do, And That Is Be Driven So The Prelude Can Be My Weekend Toy. — This is my mule. It's the daily driver/beater/whatever you want to call it. Basically all stock, with the exception of the removal of some emissions control junk to try to regain some of its long lost power. Someday I may decide to throw some actual money at it, in which case it will be getting a small turbo [8-12 psi], bags, some wheels, and MAYBE paint... It is VERY quirky, I have learned, and not really fun to drive at all.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I basically bought this so I wouldn't have to drive the Prelude into the ground, particularly in the winter, so thats about it for the pros lol.  Oh ya, and it holds a ton of stuff.

Cons: It came from the factory with a measly 95 hp [at the flywheel], and about 90 ft/lbs of torque, so I'm guessing based on how it drives its got about 10 hp and 7 ft/lbs of torque left in that tired old motor.....  And it handles worse than a fully loaded double decker bus.....

My First Truck — It was dangerously sloooooooow! the truck was so solid and mostly the engin, was unbreakable enven with almost no oil in it. there was 2 problems on this truck first he was drinking a lot of gaz in winter I was doing 14 mile a gallons and in summer it was 28 miles a gallons. And the second, he turn in a 2 stroke engine!

Pros: very solid car and engine

Cons: Power

My Best Ride I Ever Owned — for a 2.6 litre 4 cyl. this truck had some good power, and rode great, and was realiable as hell , i was able to gett 155,000 miles to the factory clutch , and at 380k miles when i pulled the valve cover off to replace the gasket the valves were still new looking and tight

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: just cool

Cons: nothing

Keep It Simple. — Just a plain old truck. Weak 4 cylinder engine, 5 speed manual. 4 wheel drive. Slow and thirsty for what it is, but otherwise cheap to drive. Not much room in back, but the dog fits fine. It is one of the best looking small trucks in my opinion.

Pros: Cheap simple transportation.

Cons: Slow and under powered.

Run Forever If You Take Care Of 'em — this truck wasnt very well taken care of by the previouse owner but all in all it treated me well. it has almost 200 thousand miles on it and she is pretty worn out. I don't have the ambition to get her runnin again.

Pros: looks cool, great cruiser

Cons: summer driving only

Bullet Proof Truck — Had the 1990 for about 5-1/2 years, over 200K and still going strong. Nothing major has been done apart from the usual maintenance. 4 cyclinder carburated engine just keeps going and going. Great little workhorse.

Owner for 5 years, 6 months

Miles Driven per Year:15,000

Wish It Had 4x4 — Overall, not a bad truck. Its a 4 cylinder 5 speed manual 2x4. The only thing that sucks is that I wish it had 4x4. Its great on fuel, and with it being so light weight it smokes the tires pretty good.

Pros: light weight and economical

Cons: No 4x4
