Prelude — I own a hard to find 1990 Honda Prelude Si 4WS, which stands for four-wheel-steer. This is a rare car in the sense that preludes were only made in japan and that on this car, the front AND rear wheels steer (turn right and left). This feature makes the car fun to drive even though it is only a 4 cylinder. I bought it with only 117k miles on it which is low for an 18 year old car. It runs and drives like a dream, and if i were to get a new car, it would be another prelude.

Pros: fun to drive

Cons: Honda metal = rust

Not Appreciated Enough — Ironically saw one of these in a local scrap yard over a weekend, by the next weekend I had bought one. Didn't have the car long, unfortunately had to get rid of it quickly because of a company car. Therefore I didn't have it enough time to fully appreciate. From my memories I remember it being a brilliant handler. This was due to 4 wheel steering technology which also helped when parking. The engine was still a carb so that was a first for me. It sounded well when it got up the revs. Got to hand it to Honda, their engines are built well. It took stick all night once. Right roung to 8000rpm and no faders. Didnt have any problems with the car apart from one of the previous owners had blew up the speakers. Wasn't the tidiest example but car was cheap, had the usual rust on the arches. Given it an average rating, if had it longer might have been diffent. Not many of this era of them left. Should be a bargain if you can find one.

Pros: 4 Wheel Steering = Great handling

Cons: Blown up speakers (nothing to do with me)

1990 Honda Prelude Si Dream Car... — She was suffering a bit when I bought her June 2007...young fella before me beat her up pretty bad, can't blame him too much though...I remember driving my Dad's 5 spd Firebird when I was 16! So we've been in a constant state of needing repairs, but being my absolute DREAM car - it's worth it - and one day she'll be racing around again...Hopefully I'll still have my teeth by then, because I'll be smilin ear to ear!

Pros: Handling & speed... makes me feel sexy damnit!  LOL

Cons: Was actually 'wrote off' in the States, rebuilt in Canada...kinda scarey, kinda creepy!

Good Car To Have. — Great performance, a lot of pickup. I love the way that the car looks and the bucket seats are a major plus, but forget about ever trying to squeeze anyone in the back seat. It's more like a tool bench back there than a pair of seats.

Pros: Amazing acceleration for a 4-cyl.

Cons: When one thing goes wrong, everything goes wrong.

Would Probably Go On Forever — Was a good laugh, threw it around and was pretty nippy. Repairs to 4 wheel steering were expensive

Pros: 4 Wheel steering

Cons: 4 Wheel steering

It's A Prelude To The Nsx! — This was awesome back in early 90s. It's a great starter car. Amazingly, it topped out at 140mph in the real world (this for NA 2.0 litre engine with auto trans!

Pros: Cheap to buy, cheap to run.  Grounds for engine swap. Looks great.

Cons: None, actually.  Well, but now it's way too old.

Tired Of This Car, Should I Fix And Keep, Or Fix And Sell? — I loved the car when i first got it. But, now everything just started to break on it. We bought it for $2000 and put ridiculously $8000 dollars into just to get the basics and everything fixed from the power-steering pump, radiator, alternator, timing belt, muffler, transmission, air conditioning system, and a few other electrical compartments. Externally it looks good. But, the engine has needed alot of work, and now something else has broke, we don't know what, our guess is the head gasket, or a rod, or something. We're not totally sure. When everything runs right it's a very nice car, and fast as well. But when stuff starts to break, this car can be a nightmare, especially the older ones, cuz the older they are, the more stuff can break. It's had 2 owners. And it has about 198,000 miles on right now. So, any advice about what this problem can be? And what i can do to fix it? Or what should i do?

Owner for 2 years, 3 months

Miles Driven per Year:8,000

Pros: Very nice car when totally fixed.

Cons: When stuff breaks down, car turns into a nightmare, killing your budget.
