I Love To Hate The Ford Bronco — My Bronco, aka "the tater," aka "satan's chariot" gets me where I need to go at a stunning 9 mpg (11 highway). I actually spend more money renting cars than I do on the tater. But, it's peeling paint and collapsing interior make it safe to park anywhere, and to leave for long periods of time if necessary. The 4wd does come in handy on snoy Durango days, which is why I kkep it around.

Pros: Big, 4wd

Cons: Big

I Love My Bronco... Can't Wait To Get Big Tires On It! — Pretty solid car. It's slow, sucks gas- but I still like it. It's a lot of fun to drive.

Pros: Styling, Fun to Drive, Can go anywhere

Cons: Gas hog!

I Love Driving My Bronco Around, Fantastic Wheels — Love the truck but sometimes I think it's haunted. Although I still struggle with complicated fuel and exhaust systems, still generally runs well after some 17 years....

Owner for 6 years, 0 months

Miles Driven per Year:10,000

Pros: King of the road

Great Truck — Performance: 351W motor at about 250 crank HP, 310 torque E4OD transmission...needs rebuild, but shifts firm Dana 44 TTB front axle, wears badly on the outside of the tires Ford 8.8 rear axle, backlash needs to be reset Skyjacker class 1 6 inch lift: 6 inch blocks in the rear, dual shock conversion and 6 inch lift springs in the front 35/12.50R15 inch Dick Cepek FC-II radial tires, very good road life and excellent off road traction American Eagle rims Paint on driver side is good, tailgate and passenger side clear coat is peeling Hood has dent above driver headlight Interior is good, acid burn in carpet, driver seat is torn. Only gets about 8 street and 13 highway MPG Recently replaced heads, engine dress up kit, repainted TTB, replaced steering box Very fun to drive, plenty of power for a 7800 lbs vehicle, outstanding offroad performance, good low range gear in t-case, NEVER been stuck I do plan on building a mild 408W stroker motor, 78-79 Dana 60 SAS coil spring set up, Coperperate14 bolt rear end, Level 10 E4OD transmission, and maybe some new paint......

Pros: Safe, family vehicle that doubles as a weekend warrior

Cons: gas mileage isn't very good, early E4OD transmissions have minor bugs and issues

Power Ranked 1988 GMC Sierra 3500 K3500 4WD Extended Cab SB better.
"Ummm, the 454ci motor. If I had to guess. So the 454 at 390hp compared to the 302 at what 180-190hp? Like there was ever any chance. The real question here should be gearing. I could make a 4 banger blow a big block off the road with the right gearing."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 1988 GMC Sierra 3500 K3500 4WD Extended Cab SB better.
"The enormous 8ft bed would be my first guess. The folding back seat in the Bronco is nice. And it just about makes into a queen size bed. Maybe a hefty full size? But an 8ft bed, come on. There is just no comparison "
