Love It To Death, But I've Been Having To Tear It Down Every 6 Months Or So To Replace Something. — performs well for a 20-year-old bmw that's been smoking too much. most parts are original, and have 215k miles on them, and still seem to work fine - over the past couple years i've owned it, i've replaced a lot of the now wearing out bits. looks funky, and needs a fresh coat of paint (paint is original). pricey to own, but parts are well built. i would drive this car to hell and back.

Pros: pushing 20 and still sexy, sporty and more fun than legos.

Cons: pricey, and everything starts breaking around 200k miles.

A Classic! Bmw At Is Purest — Performance: the best L6 sohc engine ever made. Solid performance and durability, Extremely tough and economical. Braking is extremely good and it can even outhandle the newer models of the 300 series. Build Quality: extremely high! Germans really outdid themself with this one, 20 years and they are still runing like new Appearance: Seeing that its 20 years old the car still looks good retaining that square look of the 80s yet adapting modern technology by using plastic bumpers and projector lights Cost of ownership: very low for these old cars their parts are cheap, if well mantained they can really outlast the owner, as of gas mileage its as economical as it newer models. Fun factor: extremely fun! you can daily drive it then track race it and go back to its daily routine. Not to mencion the torque happy engine and its extreme handling capabilities

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Its a BMW e30

Cons: still none

Buy One! — Awesome for an older car.. Plenty of power, all the features still work (which says alot at almost 20yrs old), comfortable, roomy for a small car, fairly large trunk. My only complaint would be that it can get stuck in very little snow.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Relatively quick.

Cons: Rust could be present in a car this age..

My Dream Car — Number 73 of 210 ever made as part of a homologation series. Racey performance, a real drivers car. Some of the alpina parts are hard to find though and to get one of these in good condition is hard as it is. Very reliable as far as BMW's go but not the lightest running vehicle on the road either. Hard suspension intended for track driving makes it a bit bumpy on south african roads however even with a bad back I have no problem driving it for long periods. Original alpina mags and body kit make this E30 based race car a real stunner to look at. Also due to the small amount made they are highly collectible.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Fast, beautiful, reliable, collectible

Cons: Hard suspension

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: DORIFTO

Cons: it needs allot of love

Was A Very Nice Fun Car To Drive.. — Performance - acceleration, braking, handling = all perfect. the twin cam engine was a gem. it liked to rev and it sounded like a real engine when screaming at 7000 rpm. the brakes were perfect for the weight of the car. very cheap on petrol and other running costs.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: balance....

Cons: hard to get some engine parts now

Good Car But Be Careful When Buying Them... — Was OK - great handling piece of kit (excellent of getting the back end out!).. Build quality wasn't great but mechanically OK... Um, dunno what else to say about... Servicing costs were cheap as were parts - depends on who you know,...

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Handling, sportiness

Cons: Build quality I suppose...

You Can't Have Mine, But Get One! — This car is almost NINETEEN (19) YEARS OLD and still performs like a new luxury car. I've paid / spent less than $3000 buying and refurbishing this car with many parts taken from wrecked cars / salvage yards and I wouldn't trade it for made today costing less than $50k. It cruises comfortably at 80mph at 24mpg and it performs like a Ferrari.

Pros: Performance, comfort, style, beauty, and economy

Cons: ODOMETER GEARS WERE MADE OF PLASTIC & BREAK AFTER  YEARS

1990 Bmw 325i — the e30 is known for its quality and dependability, and even for performance and this is a good example. For performance breaking acceleration and handeling are all great but that you can exspect out of all BMWs. As for maintanince its average because for one its an 19 year old car, all cars will need work at an age like this but overall it is solid and needs little more than the average repairs. The appearance ay not suit evreyone but the boxy body design is widely known for bmw in the 80s and early 90s overall i would say appearance is an 9/10 but thats my opinion. Cost of ownership is realatively low, 25-30 mpg and mantaince is never overwhelming in cost. Fun factor this car is one of the best choices out there, it is fun to drive, and it handels great.

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing
