Best Car Ever — bought new and ran it 167,000 miles with not problems except the ac stops working at around 120,000 miles. Other then that zero problems. Very slow but drove great on te highway.

Pros: low maintnence, drable, long lasting(known to last 500k+), looks great

Cons: ac went t around 120k

It Is Hard To Change My Car Because She 's So Special. — No matter how senior her age is,she always give me the best comfortness, handling, safety, acceleration, driving pleasure, style, engine, exterior and interior quality, and privilege to obtain parking space in most parking lot.it is hard to think of another car?

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I am in love with my Mercedes-Benz 300E Special Automatic 1989

Cons: cannot find any disadvantage

1989 Mercedes-Benz 300-Class 300TE Wagon Review
says:
I owned both a 1989 Mercedes Benz 300 SEL & a Mercedes Benz 300 TE for < 2 Decades! These both have a Suspension that Hugs the Road like Race Cars. In comparison to the 2016 RAV 4 LE I Purchased, Please Be Aware That the RAV’s Suspension is practically non-existent; it is Top Heavy and its Weight limitations for Packing are Dangerous! Yes, my MERCS are 29 Years Old, but they STOP ON A DIME! I watch its Gauges, and therefore Repairs never exceed $2,400/yr. Yes, they require The Highest Octane Fuel, but I have been surprised that around Town or a Highway, my mpg is only 5-7mpg More Than RAV! When I see the New Crossovers in Wrecks/Pipeups, They crumple like a Tin Can w/multiple car flying Off! I am Trying to like my RAV by avoiding driving either of my MERCS, but MERCS have Steel bars in Doors for better protection than any side Door Airbag can Provide! Your Visibility in a Merc is Far Superior to a Crossover! If You Use RAV,s Back-Up Camera, you may easily miss seeing Moving Vehicles no standard camera reveals. I have been driving 52 Years, and I learned not to tailgate, weave in The Lane I am driving in, & I Use my Left/Right Signals, Wipers & Headlights In Rain, and I have Power to accelerate quickly to avoid Drivers with inconsistent speed or weaving in Roads. My IPhone provides Navigation when needed, and the Speakers to The Becker Radio are better than RAV! When I learned the RAV has Plastic wheel covers I was Bonkers! The RAV is essentially built w/Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil, Plastic, and Fiberglass, which makes it lighter to achieve a higher mpg! I Regret ever buying this RAV that after 2 Years 2 Months now has 5,482 miles but was 4.250 at Thanksgiving, 2017! The Phone Pairing constantly requires Re-Estabishing, but with our highways full of Individuals Holding Their Phone Driving, I do not use a Phone while Driving; my Brain is focused on Road! I am not impressed with the New Bells & Whistles of any of the 2018 Crossovers! I can’t believe the Roof Ridges lack Protective Rubber Strips! To use to carry a Kayak May not scratch its Roof, but Cargo Carriers require cross Bars, and Special Carriers, but with this additional Weight on Roof, A Driver may easily exceed these Crossovers Weight Limits, an issue addressed by National Safety Examinination. If I had not Taken Care Of Both My MERCS Over the Years, I would not discredit my RAV or other Crossovers! Should have done more research. If you Find A MERC Owner, Who has taken care of their MERC 300 Vehicle, have a Trusted MERC Evaluate, and BUY if no Neglect is Found or Questionable Repairs?

1989 Mercedes-Benz 300-Class 300E Sedan Review
says:
This car rides so nice I almost feel bad that it cost under $1000 to purchase. But it cost so little because its nearly 3 decades old and everything that can reach the end of its service lifetime is dying off. So maintenance costs are high. But it is one of the smoothest cars Ive ever driven - not boaty like an American luxury car, this car is so soft yet still feels precise, like a finely crafted piece of German machinery. Even in its decaying state, it is steady and powerful.
