The Most Reliable Unreliable Car I Own. — Yes, I have a Honda Civic. Most people don't know about it because I haven't driven it in a couple of years, since the engine block is cracked (with ~230,000 miles). I bought it for $100 from an acquaintance and fixed the transmission; it ran great for a summer and autumn before dying on me. I had some great memories with that car: my fiance (at the time brand new girlfriend) cut the exhaust off of it with a kitchen knife when the muffler fell off, leaving the rest hanging over the rear axle; my brother and I experienced the (second) hood flying open at full speed, shattering the windshield and making the five mile drive home scary as hell; driving with said broken windshield to Lapeer to get a new one installed, with bits of glass hitting my face along the way. Needless to say, I want to fix this car, if only because I had a lot of fun in six months.

Pros: Fun car, manual transmission, cheap, great mileage.

Cons: Doesn't run, back brakes never worked, bald tires, put a new exhaust system on it before it died.

Great Little Car — perfermance wise it sucks ass. its got like no kick but whatever. breaks are good and handling is real phat, but acceleration could be better. umm well its an 89 so yeah its probly needed repairs from its use. its got over 300k on the engine so whatevs. also got new clutch. appearance is deece i guess. its got some chips. bumper is cracked too. i got the car for 800 bucks so i cant complain, and its really good on gas. yeah the car is pretty fun to drive, its a five speed and sounds real gnarly so yeah its good, its good yeah id recomend this car for a first car. first car is never perfect so what ever you know. yeah its a good little car

Pros: good on gas. five speed standard. new tires. i dont know

Cons: high kilometers on it. paint chipping

1989 Honda Civic Si — The 89' Civic SI is the lightest year EF chassis due to seatbelts on the b-pillar rather than the door, look at the pic.. it beats cars worth 20 times its value at solo2 autocross, turns on a dime takes every corner on 3 wheels and you could put basically any honda swap you want in to it... This was my first car, i TRIED to blow the motor for 60k miles until i broke a rod at 200k i wanted to swap a B16a1 in but i sold it to a avid SCCA auto-x fanatic who owns a honda shop and already had 2 of this car, he put a motor and suspension in it and trailers it to the track weekly :-)

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Everything about this car is perfect, Even with 108 hp you can pull on anyone in the twisties...

Cons: Watch for rust in the wheel wells..   Most remaining SI's have been riced out and beat on..

Dont Be Surprize If Im In Front Of You — I Love honda. Performance is this car is never going to die on me and i can always upgrade the motor to a faster one. Com on it runs on no oil but it could blow. The car is so light that when i see VW in the street i want to race it. Build quality depends on if u put quality parts on it. The Appearance of the car is what im working on what color scheme? so i do. It s a 4 cyls. car so its good on gas, and very easy to fix. This car is fun to drive if u like peeling and drag racing.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: VTEC

Cons: i can die easier if i crash its so small.

Great Car For Around Town. — 1989 Honda Civic DX custom convertible (2008). Upgraded engine to a 1998 1.6L with 98 clutch/pressure plate. 5 speed manual transmission. Chassis has 280,000 miles on it and the engine/transmission has about 18,000. Great car with lots of power and 45+ MPG. I used the original dual point fuel injection system which yields better fuel economy, but with the 1.6L engine there is plenty of power, especially with the extra weight removed by the top and rear hatch.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It gets a lot of looks, and gets awesome fuel mileage.

Cons: it's tiny, and there's no place to lock anything up in it, and if it rains your in trouble!

Crazy Quick, But Just Gettin Started. — Almost 300000 miles but the engine is a ZC out of Japan with about 50K on it by now. Intake kit already installed, slotted and drilled disk brakes already installed, suspension rebuilt with competion level struts etc., (BOMZ Racing and Bear Brakes thank you) Driftz wheels already installed as well. Next step is machining head (ported, polished, valves spring doubled up). Headers and exhaust. Oh yeah, and I'm getting it painted next week.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Drives like a go cart, corners like it's glued down.

Cons: Gets profiled a little by cops.

Awesome Car! — This car is my first car and i absolutely love it. For such a small car it has so much performance even from bone stock. This car handles great on the corners and has never slid out from under me whilst cornering. Breaking is very fast as it is so light. Very very cheap to run and has used hardly any oil since i have owned it. An awesome car! It almost feels like a go-cart

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Great reliable car, has great performance especially handling and acceleration.

Cons: Motor splutters quite a bit if left for months on end but thats just normal. Parts are getting hard to find as it is 21 years old

I Like My Honda — easy aftermarket upgrades interchangeable engines...and parts, buy stock n work your way up to modified. something easy to repair at home and alot of online help on do it yourself thngs as well as trying to build your own ideal of what it should be. its not super fast but you can do your own thing with the car on great buget and always have more room for better things.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: economic but fun

Cons: gotta fish n research parts

Start Off Here And Be Careful You May Be Small And Fit Between Those Cars, But What If They Hit You? — This car gives a newbe the feeling of fast, but with a great feeling of control. it has handling what is unbelieveable, breaking remarkable, and acceleration which can actually make you feel like your fast.. it design is simple, and build was made to last (without an accident), it was cheap to buy, and cheap to own. over all for a 1st car it was fun as can be.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: cost

Cons: not the size to with stand an accident

I Absolutly Loved It — it was my brothers and it had sweet acceleration and being a manual helped. i drove it round my sophmore year while my brother was in iraq but now my brother is getting rid of it cause an repair shop told him that they were affraid to lift it cause it was so rusted and that if he hits a big enough pot hole that it might split in half.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: good gas milage

Cons: one you get past 3rd gear it boged out on exeleration
