Looks Good, Ran Good, Handled Good, Made Me Crazy With Quality Issues. — Great handling, fast, seemed lighter the faster you went. Six speed shifter was fantastic. Too flexible, too many things go wrong, ride extremely harsh with many rattles and shakes. Only kept it 5 years. Trade in allowance just about paid for the Miata. Pros: Acceleration and handling Cons: Poor chassis rigidity and overall lack of quality. Expensive to repair. |

Highly Recommended For Those Who Love To Drive And Are Mechnically Inclined. Hybrid? — WOW! My only regret is that I did not own one sooner. Fast, fun, still has the looks, 27 MPG with the really nice 6 speed. With only 87K original miles, it still runs really strong. Some minor component failures but there are at least 10 places to buy all the parts you will ever need! Buy a C4, you'll love it! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Best car I have ever driven, That says a lot... Cons: Now I wan't a new one... |

The Coolest Car I've Driven — My dad's cousin was nice enough to let me take her Corvette for a spin. After having driven a Corvette, I am bumping the Buick Regal from #4 down to #5. What I liked as much as the performance was the digital gauges, I'm surprised more cars don't have them today. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Technologically advanced instrument panel for 1989 Cons: Noisy engine |

'89 Corvette Coupe — Great performance, but she is old and has a lot of little issues, like wiring and starting problems. Once I get her running though, she is fast and strong and absolutely stunning! The looks are fabulous and classic, turns heads every time I take her out. Also, the handling, even in the rain, is superb. Pros: looks, aerodynamics, handling Cons: reliability, power |

A Dream Come True! — My 50th birthday brought a new mistress into my life - a beautiful 1989 Red Corvette. I'd been looking for a while and most of this era are totally trashed - inside and out. On a drive-by, spotted her in a small used car lot. Ran state title on her and found one owner for 16 years and two years with one owner. Definitely garage-kept and maintained well. Dealer was motivated and got her for $7000! Needs rubber weatherstrip work, new stereo system, tires sometime this summer, but interior is immaculate and exterior very clean. Exterior molding is fading but that can be corrected. Mechanically checked out in great shape - mechanic was pushing me to sell and I only had her for two days! Her first drive was in the Smoky Mountains along the Little Pigeon River. Never been in a car ever that held flat in a 30 mph turn at 50. Got to watch for cops! Owner for 0 years, 1 months Miles Driven per Year:5,000 Pros: Looks, power and that 'Vette feel Cons: I didn't do this sooner! |

This 1989 Corvette Convertible Is A Great Car. — This car gets great gas milage on the road (best I got was 29 mpg on a trip to Corvettes at Carlisle). It handles great and will do 0 to 60 in about 5 seconds. It is more comfortable than I thought it would be on long (5 hour) road trips. The power seats are fantastic. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: This is my first Corvette. I have been the caretaker for 17 years. It has been a fun car that has never let me down. Cons: The only negative that I can think of is that it seems to go through an alternator every six years or so. Everything else is normal maintenance. |
