If You Want A Real Jeep Then You Are Looking At It. —

All around amazing Jeep and fun to work on. Almost all years and parts are interchangeable. The development of auto lock ups was a big improvement in the 90's over the air actuated locks that I had on this. I replaced mine with axles off a 2000 Cherokee. Parts are easy to find and easy to replace. Most have some similar quarky little issues that can easily be fixed and most do not affect the Jeeps ability to run or drive. You just might not know how much gas you have or your oil pressure. Ride is rough but they are hard to break. Even after I ran mine into a guard rail and sold it off with 260k miles on it, it is still being driven today. These are very basic but amazingly well built functional JEEPS. They do what you need them to do and are great for modifying and rebuilding. My I6 still ran after I blew the heads and cracked the block. I drove it like that for 120 miles on the highway and it still started up even after it was moved to another Jeep to be sold off as a junker. Only down side is that like most older cars, these usually have a higher level of routine maintenance that is not necessary but will prolong the life beyond 300k miles. Most people looking for this kind of car will fall in love with any 1988-2001 Jeep cherokee.

Pros: Awesome JEEP very adaptalbe

Cons: They stopped making them in 2001 value and insurance may be an issue for some people

Jeep Xj= Awsomeness — Performance- A good 4X4 right out of the box, i wouldn't wheel any other stock "SUV" Build Quality- Great AMC quallity Appearance- Sexy in a spartan way 2 door all the way Cost of Ownership- Gas milage may reach single digits, other than that cost is rediculusly expensive, what with trail armor, replacement rear axle, lockers, lift, regear... mabe im different than others tho. Fun Factor- This car IS A TOY... duh

Pros: Strong I6 4.0, good power to weight, torque monster

Cons: Weak Pukegoat tranny and D35 rear axle, limited tire size at stock hight

Jeep Cherokee Pioneer — Did everything in this car. Family car, long trips, modest off-roading, snow vehicle, it did it all. Built very solid and gave a smooth ride. The 4.0 straight 6 was awesome! Easy to maintain and reliable. It was an awesome vehicle. Loved it!

Pros: Solid and smooth ride

Cons: Interior noise

Jeep Cherokee Pioneer — This is probably the 2nd best car i've ever had. drove it 6,500 miles in a few weeks, from Los Angeles to Boston with various detours, never once let me down. Had her completly airborne twice, drove 18 hours non-stop, had her downtown Hollywood and Manhattan, not one problem. Very very reliable and strong, nothing bad about this truck.

Pros: The whole thing

Cons: n/a

Gotta Love My Jeep =) — I pretty much love my jeep because it is such a teen car. It performs OK. Acceleration isn't great all the time. It cost nothing because my aunt lets me use it. It drinks up the gas tho, and with the gas my money. Oh well =) It has such a strong engine though that I like it. It's also easy to work on (not that I do) but my dad can, and that means no repair shops.

Pros: Strong, long-lasting, cool.

Cons: Acceleration, gas.

The Winter/off-road Vehicle. 300k On It And Its Still Truckin. — DD for couple years before given to friend, turned into off-road vehicle, then given back to me. Fun to drive with all four doors off!

Pros: 3" lift. 31x10.50's, Roof Rack, Rock Rails, Dynomax cat-back, Quick-disco sway bars, CB, hood spacers, tow-hooks, class V receiver, Removable doors. Indestructible 4.0 inline 6.

Cons: The dreaded Peugeot transmission, lol.  Mileage above 70MPH sux!

I'm A Xj Lover To The Fullest. — I have owned about 5 xj's.My first one 19yrs old and i had a blast in all of them non of them had a lift on them but i was still able to go any where i wanted to go and through anything offroad pretty much.To me they are one of the most low maintance and reliable vehicles on this earth.Thats why i call my self the XJ MAN,I love my 88 xj the only thing about it is that it's a 4cil and i can feel the diference from the 6cil.Although the 4cil is better on gas i kinda mis the power of the 6cil,but the gas factor is good for my wallet because i work in construction(carpenter)and i always have to be driving to difrent sides of town.this is the first 4cil xj that i own and eventhough it has less power than the 6cil i still love it and iwant to put a 4" susp lift on it and 32-11.50's on black rims.

Gas Guzzler Jeep — The first car i had in canada. 4 litre cherokee 3 door in white. jacked up and big tyres made it look good and it really could handle the off road stuff well. spent ages in the local sand quarry!

Pros: off road ability

Cons: on road ability & ridiculous fuel consumption
