F150 — Performance - Gobs of Torque Build - It is a very sturdy frame, however, the body panels are easily damaged, and it does not stand up well to rust. -Terrible Gas Mileage Fun Factor - 'Tis great to take mudding, and trail riding, though it is a bit expensive to drive on the road... Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Engine Cons: Longevitiy |

Old But Good 1988 Ford F-150 — After being owned for nearly 21 yrs the build quality and durability has been very good and parts are still readily available from most parts outlets and the aftermarket. I've driven all of the newer models and they are much better than what I have, but I wonder how well they will hold up 10,15, 20 yrs down the road. My only gripe with it is lack of power even though I have upgraded the engine some (MAF conversion, headers, exhaust). I kinda wish it had the 351W when I tow heavy loads so I make the best with what I have. Gas mileage isn't that great 13-15 mpg at best. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) Pros: Durability, ease of maintenance, parts availability Cons: lack of power with 5.0 engine with heavy loads, fuel mileage (13-15 mpg) |

F150 — Worked good unil the electrical system went out. Good old stick, manual 4 wheel drive. Good towing ability, passanger room of maybe 4 people at one time. Good Solid Truck — i am picking it up friday, it needs a new starter and starter solenoid but that will be easy enough. it has power steering and cruise control, the engine is the ford big block 300 mated to an automatic tranny for now. it can tow up to 6750 pounds and with dual gas tanks and 4 wheel drive it can pull anything anywhere.it does need minor body work but it is a solid truck. Pros: aggressive, strong yet not a huge gas guzzler Cons: needs work |

88 Ford — This was my first truck and i love it. I got it from my dad about 2 years ago and since have added 6inches of lift and a 2 in body lift. It is now on 37 x13.50x 15. I have probly replaced just about every part of this truck. It is probly not a truck that you would want if you cant work on it youself. But the plus side parts are cheap. Pros: Everything Cons: 4mpg |

I wanted heated seats, low miles (35K>), reasonably priced (~35K). It met those criteria. I compared it to a F150 Lariat - 1 year older, 37K miles and $42K - could not justify the increased price. Read More
