1987 Toyota Cressida Overview
The Toyota Cressida, Toyota's luxury sedan, saw the addition of a new automatic transmission from the Supra in 1987. The new tranny had different gear ratios for better performance, but slightly lower gas mileage.
The 1987 Toyota Cressida came as a wagon or a sedan. The engine was a 2.8-liter, 156-horsepower six cylinder, and it came standard with an automatic transmission. A five-speed manual was available as an option. The Cressida was well-equipped, coming with a generous amount of standard features. Fuel economy was about 19/24.
Drivers love the 1987 Toyota Cressida, saying it is fun to drive, offers a smooth, quiet ride, and has amazing longevity. Some drivers complain that it can be prone to rust, and some grumble about the lack of cupholders.
