1987 Honda Accord — I really have enjoyed rebuilding my 1987 Honda Accord. I had a little trouble with the intake manifold, but other than that, it's a great car to drive. Great handling and wonderful gas mileage.

Cool Car — 325,000 plus miles, and drive it about 50 miles every day. Never have a problem taking it on road trips either. I love this car. I paid $150 for it almost 3 years ago, and it just keeps getting better!

Honda Accord Ex2.0i — Good acceleration, and good looking exterior with plenty of space inside. It's wide and not very high, so it has good handling. I got to 100 km/h with a good load, and it was so relaxing. Got some problems with hand brake(mechanism at the wheel, I heard it's a common problem). It's quiet old, so some has to be changed: rubber at doors, seats( would like sportier ones), some interior and exterior details. Also the transmission has some problems (sometimes doesn't want to engage 1st gear or any other when you want to pull out, or disengage the reverse). It's an European version and it's a EX2.0i with manual transmission. Sometimes it looks like box to me, but still a mean and good looking car. I didn't got the chance to drive it fast because I still drive with my parents, and roads are terrible. Still a good car, but I decided to pay respect to its age and let my father drive as he thinks it's better(I tend to go over 3000 revs, and this makes me think either I'll blow the engine or the gearbox will fall apart).

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: a wonderfull car

Cons: age problems

Couple Of Caveats — Love my 87 Accord LX, except two design challenges. (1) It has a complex web of vacuum hoses that took me two days to replace one by one. (2) I've heard one reliable mechanic and an Internet source both stating that if you begin having carbeurator troubles on this model, there's almost no fixing it (time to move on). Update in 2012: Still driving this oldie at almost 250,000 miles with no major issues other than typical repairs as the miles pile up. The AC died on this vehicle before I bought it, and my Honda mechanic says the compressor on this vehicle was a piece of junk not worth replacing.

Pros: Can't say enough good things about this vehicle, although it very long in the tooth now.

Cons: AC problems inherent with original design.
