It's My Husbands Car — My husband loves his 1987Ford T-Bird Turbo. So, much he refuses to give it up. It is silver with some red trim. It could use some work but it runs like a sewing maching. I brought it home for him to try and he fell in love.

Pros: It runs well

Cons: It leaks

Glad They Stopped Making These — Bought it new, but now I would stick to trucks as far as Ford is concerned. This thing ate up 2 alternators within 25,000 miles. The electrical system was a nightmare. Wires would just crack and short out. The brake lights went out and the digital speedometer went dead. Turned out wherever a wire moved-it cracked. Biggest waste of money yet.

Pros: it was black?

Cons: electrical and general build quality

Thunderchicken! — One of the most amazing cars I've ever driven, and one of the most horrific dealer/repair experiences I've ever had. The car that turned me off of Ford for life, well, the car for which the repair experience at Jack Roach Ford turned me off of Ford for life.

Pros: Looks - holy smokes!  Blazingly fast.  Comfortable, handled beautifully

Cons: Couldn't keep it running

The Car's A Tank For The Most Part — Car runs great, acceleration is pretty good for a small 4 cylinder, but they get you on the gas mileage...about as much as a new 'Stang.

Pros: Reliable Car, doesn't dent easily

Cons: Gas mileage is a pain a lot of times, at $3.60 a gallon

1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe Economy, Luxury And Performance In One Package. — I owned my Turbo Coupe for almost ten years and have yet to find anything that comes close to as fun to drive. I rue the day I sold it and swear I will get another one some day.

Pros: Gorgeous car, great performance, good fuel economy, just plain fun to drive.

Cons: rear disk brakes were a constant maintenance issue

I Wish I Had This Car Longer — I bought this car because of it's rarity and i drove it about a month then sold it because i could't afford the repairs on it because it was sitting for a number of years.

Pros: Excellent handling accelerating and appearance

Cons: braking was a little weak and needed to much work

My Pride And Joy — The styling of this car was way before its time. The features this car has are amazing for the year it was built and they all work. This vehicle has only left me stranded 3 times in 25 years! There are so few of these 87 Thunderbirds in our area, that I am certain when I am on the road each week, driving it around, folks don't know what it is. Yes, it gets looks and several folks have talked to me about her at the stop light. No, it is not for sale ;-). It has new paint, rebuilt transmission, and a fair amount of body work was completed before the beautiful paint job, which several body shops said that they could not match. Finally found a shop that painted it with no problem. I am a Ford Lady,, I also own a 98 Ford Explorer as well!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: I can only state that there are so many pros, it is the reason I have kept this car for 25 years.

Cons: Gas mileage and it leaks oil, but very little.
