1986 Toyota PickupReview

The Radest Truck Ever — Its ultra mega rad!!!!! Toyota builds the best trucks ever. they even work broken. I had a dead cylinder in my 22re drove it four thousand miles and it still ran fine. did not leak or burn oil it has not stranded me either.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: toyotas are the best!

Cons: Nothing

My Truck — Over all the truck is great. I have done modifications to it but nothing to the engine besides a header. So with 35" tires and stock gears it doesnt really get faster than 70. But what can you expect from a 22R?

Pros: 5 inches of lift riding on 35's

Cons: Gas mileage

Its Black With Big Mudders On It — i like this truck because it is little and will go some places bigger trucks cant go in the mud and in the woods and i only paid $500 for this truck and it is very fun to drive and it is a five speed so u can get a little challange.

Pros: it is a great mud ridding truck

Cons: it needs more horse power

Look Up Any Review It'll Tell You Better Things Than I Can Describe — When my dad gave me his old pickup, I immediately redid the front and back bumpers, paint, put carpet in, new mirrors, new tires, rhino lining, a new aluminum lock box with matching license plate frame and mud flaps. all i really have to do is a little interior work, and new rims, and it'll look perfect. love, love, love it!!! :-)

Pros: easy to find an replace parts, all steel exterior, easy wiring, EVERYTHING!!!

Cons: Replaced the engine headers, and need to replace the heating unit, plus rebuilt transmission (by choice) but after 22 years, not too bad.

Best Vehicle We Have Ever Had — Original owner -- lived life in desert. No rust. Pulled all emissions junk ... carbed "22R" engine starts on auto choke ... original engine/exhaust/alternator ... added 3-row radiator for Phx living ... now lives full time in San Felipe, Baja. Had to change flywheel due to worn teeth (did clutch disc/pressure plate & throwout bear.) Replaced water pump ... 10 minute task (can almost do it with the engine running!) Added 31-inch BFG A/Ts ... so changed rear end "punkin" to match (forget the OEM ratio ... 4.9:1?). Beards "racing buckets". Blows cold air in 110F-115F ambient. Just repainted in Baja. Never wrecked. Bilsteins on all corners. PERFECT desert rig ... FabTech "glass" front fender; "Oultaw II" wheels ...

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: 220K miles; ungodly reliable; original drive shaft/U-Joints

Cons: Tinny sheet metal
