Awesome — Its an old car so it does need a lot of maintenance, but I love it just the same. It handles amazingly and has a respectable amount of power but I believe it can be easily improved. I think that it just may be the best car Porsche ever made, its definitely my favorite.

Pros: Good looking and great handling

Cons: Old so it needs significant maintenance and continual improvement.

Love At First Drive — I test drove a 1985.5 944 while considering it's purchase. The car was a rock. I absolutely loved it. Entry/Exit is somewhat tough due to the very low seating position, but once in place, the seats are extremely supportive and comfortable. The engine leaves a bit to be desired, but is more than adequate for a 2600 pound car, returning 0-60 times of around 7.5 seconds. Where the car really won me over was with it's handling. It drives like it's on rails, at any speed. Braking is firm and responsive, direction changes are an exercise in wishing the wheel to turn, and the car almost reads your mind when you're driving it. In 1986, Car and Driver named the 1986 Porsche 944 the best handling car in the world, and I feel that it may still have a shot at that title, especially for the price that you can pick a great one out for.

Pros: Phenomenal handling, great seats, eyecatcher due to relative rarity

Cons: Lackluster 2.5L NA engine, expensive repairs

Porsche 944 — Test drove the car for a friend because he didn't know how to drive a stick shift and I could. It handled great and had lots of power for a small engine. Would love to have one but can't find one in the price range I want to spend>

Pros: Sweet car

Cons: none

Fast Understatement Porsche — It's a black beauty with a very powerful engine. Has a very good stability on the road. Is very fast i can hold a porsche cayenne V 8 and a cayman s with the 3.4 engine. Like other porsche's it is not cheap to hold! And I have a friend since i drive my 944: the man at the gas station :-)

Pros: engine, power, ride,

Cons: fuel consumption and costs

Porsche 944 Review — Not enough horsepower but decent pickup and long revs, handles better than most cars, voted #1 handling car of it's time, unique drivetrain, 50/50 weight distribution, flooring it on an off-ramp is flattering, i like the look, one of the most fun cars ive driven, love it just as much as the day i got it.

Pros: Handling, Sound, Fun

Cons: Could be quicker

1986 Porsche 944 — Good acceleration, superb handling. This is a sweet car that I don't plan on getting rid of anytime soon! This car has a top speed of about 160 MPH, and that's with no mods, just stock. The car is a blast to drive! Wouldn't trade it for most anything else!

Pros: Good acceleration, great handling, 50/50 weight distribution

Cons: Expensive to work on!

86' Porsche 944 — The 944 is an excellent vehicle to own. Stylish and a lot of fun to drive, the Porsche 944 is a perfect car for a person whose passion is cars. I would recommend this care to anyone and everyone, and it costs less that most cars on the market. Enjoy!

Pros: Fun to drive,  flawless handeling,  looks great.

Cons: Brand parts are difficult to come by.

Epic — we recently bought this car for about 6000 and my family could not be happyier. It has great acceleration, it goes from bout 0 to 60 in 5 seconds. My family is very tall: my dad is 6'5 my mom is 5'11 and im 6'1 and we all have plenty of head room in this car. And... this car gets nearly 30 miles to the gallon.

Pros: great performance and gas mileage. lots of fun

Cons: hard to get parts for it

Porsche 944 Turbo W/stage 3 Kit — This car was modified by a racing pit crew. It had a stage three kit that gave it about 75 more horse power that a regular 944 turbo. The kit includes upgrades to the clutch, air intake, suspension, exhaust and a computer chip...it had about 360 horse power and had been driven over 200 miles per hour.

Pros: ***

Cons: they don't make it anymore

Now We're Talking! — Having done my penance in car hell, this was the reward. Outstanding acceleration, handling, and looks, this car was remarkably affordable for what it was. Reasonably well constructed and comparitivelt easy to work on for such a fast car. No rear seat room or stowage to speak of.

Pros: Blistering fast, tight, car.

Cons: Not a good car to make out in -- no passenger compartment room at all!
