My 86' 2r Svo Mustang — So, i've spent a lot of money on the long block, suspension, and trim restoration. I just bought new wheels for it and hope to chase my friends/colleagues around the race track. For an 86, it kicks ass. Next up are new control arms, diff service, and paint!! WOOT!! Pros: 1 of 9700 made!! Cons: Trans make a terrible noise - no fear though, new 88' TC WC T-5 going in!! |

My Former Stang — I have to say that this was my fastest stang to date. It was an 86 mustang svo that i had a hard time with restoring it back to an SVO cause of money so what I did was put on a front end fron a 87-93 lx. I added the wing then sprayed it primer flat black. I had also added the 03 cobra wheels at that time with a couple of minor modifications of course. I did so much to that car I would run out of room. Overall its missed very much. Pros: Performance was amazing. Cons: I sold it to the wrong person. His machanic was an idiot. |

My Car — the preformance is fairly good i would say... the build quality is fine, it's a unibody .. the exterior colour is a midnight blue, on the inside i have NOS racing seats and the back seats are just blue and orange pedals... the cost of this vehicle was 1200 to buy straight out but then i had to put 1400 into the safety and everything it needed to pass the safety, it does not require an e-test because it's older then 20 years... the fun factor eh!? it certainly is fun to drive, it's super comfortable... GO GET ONE!!! Pros: some postive aspects of my car is probably that it gets me to where i need to go Cons: the negtives .. needs more parts to make it run better. |

Great Car, Easy To Work On. Looks Great If Kept Up. — I had one for a while, the head gasket was blown out and I didn't know as much as I do now otherwise I would have kept it, but the car still ran even with a blown head gasket. When I got it, it was out of time and the solenoid was sticking and the starter was stuck in gear and the fuel pump had a bad ground. Thanks to my cousin we got it started, I later timed it by ear and replaced the valve cover gaskets. It ran great for a while, but then the head gasket finally blew out and the compression went out the window, it still ran but badly, not knowing that my cousin could have fixed it easily I took it to the junkyard. Pros: Runs good, looks good, handles good too. Cons: Myriad of wiring to be careful of, vacuum hoses missing leads to Majorly degraded performance. |

Love My 'stang...needs Rebuilt — Got this baby used, as my 1st car, for my 21st b-day. Still have it and love it, although it's been off the road for years now. I WILL one day restore/rebuild it. Have had some of the common Ford probs along the way but they weren't major. When the relatively recently rebuilt transmission was blown by someone I lent it to, it got permanantly parked. Restoration will take a while but it will be well worth it when I do. :) Pros: fun, easy to diagnose/repair, handles well. Cons: convertible leaked at windshield, rear main seal leaked even after replacement... |

Great Summer Cruiser — Almost a classic car with great potential. My personal car was the Expo '86 demonstartor which was used to show-case Ford's newest addition to the mustang community, fuel injection. The car only has a few draw packs in todays world. The engines are large (3.8L V6 or 5.0L V8) but their transmissions are not geared well so you are unable to tap into the engines full potential. This leads to lower fuel economy and lower perfomance levels. This is especially so for the V6 w/t auto transmission w/o overdrive. Three gears is not enough and the car sounds like a wounded animal above 130kph (especially with the convertable top). With overdrive or 4spd the car becomes slightly better but the best option is still the 5spd.
Pros:
+ great summer car
Cons:
- prone to leaking |

86 Gt Vert — This car was a lot of fun when I had it...Just look at the pics...It was the best looking 86 around. Pros: 5.0L with flowmasters...this car sounded awesome, amazing condition, reworked motor, power top Cons: hard clutch and long throws (like driving a dump truck), fast, but not nearly fast enough with the 5.0, no power windows or locks |
