1983 Ford GranadaReview
Reliable Car, Which Was Like A Family Member Over 20 Years. — The car was owned by my father and after him by me from 1986 to 2006. It was used previously as taxi car and it was driven 186000 km. When my friend exported the car to Brasov in Transilvania, Romania it had been driven over 700000 km.
Pros: Reliability, driving feel (the power-steering was disabled almost 20 years), economical (fuel consumption about 7.5 l/100km - less in summer more in winter), comfort and smooth ride in humps, bumps and even gravel roads.
Cons: No fuel(filter) heater, you needed biological power-steering (muscles) during parking, light tail is dangerous in winter without some 50 kg extra weight in boot. Also, in Finland the diesel usage taxes made it too expensive to drive only 10000-15000 km per year as a 2nd car with my Mini.
