1981 Talbot Matra Rancho Review
1981 Talbot Matra Rancho — I Got this car from the Cape Town region of South Africa, though some Body parts are made of Glass Fibre, The underneath is getting very rusted as I work to keep it good. Its a lot better now the car is in Johannesburg - Far from the sea breeze. However, I like my Talbot as its an affordable, rare, "Vintage" - Scarce as a Chicken Tooth
Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
Pros: I live in the East area of Johannesburg, Gauteng South Africa. I love to see the surprise on the people's faces when I pull up to them by the Traffic lights. better still The steering wheel is on the "wrong side" Its on the Left like in the USA, but South Africa drive Right handed cars. Nice to be different! Better still I am the only 1981 Matra Rancho owner in South Africa - I Guess. So far, I do get parts that fit my Talbot (As I call it). Parts from Renault 5, Peugeot etc. and its Very light on fuel at 1.4.
Cons: Many guys think its a Land Rover Discovery, and the looks is deceptive as many think its got a 4x4 Capability. Well LoL its just a 1.4 Petrol engine car. I love it for fishing, Picnics etc
