1981 Alfa Six Sedan At 2.5 V6 — Another of my everyday cars, and my FAVOURITE favourite. This is my second Alfa 6, converted from 6 single choke down draught Dellorto carbs to the fuel injection of the GTV 6. Its a beautiful car to drive, harking back to the days of primative pretentiousness where every interion surface was covered by fake burr wallnut, high-class italian velour, and shiny leatherette. Very brisk off-the-mark for a yesteryear automatic, I seldom need to exceed 2500 rpm to get away from most traffic, due to bags of low-down torque. I will never never never sell this car,and if I had vaults of money, would collect as many as I could. A very underated Italian saloon (with a cameo role in the GodfatherIII), this car suffered from the ignorant Alfas-are-problems reputation, totally unfounded in my opinion.
Pros:
Old fashioned 3-box styling, lovelly craftmanship, idiosyncratic Cons: Lack of resale value causes the very few out there to be neglected due to high maintenence costs, and lack of new parts ![]() Looking for a Used Alfasud in your area?CarGurus has thousands of nationwide listings and the tools to find you a great deal. |
