Hardest Car I Ever Had To Get Over Selling. — One hundred percent ORIGINAL. 229ci V6, Metric 200 trans. She was a gift from my wife and kids, for my 30th birthday. Discovered on eBay, located 5 miles from my home. She was a great car, I miss her dearly. My daughter fell in love with her almost a fast as I did... She even named her, Sophia. Sophia's frame was rotted really bad in the rear (where these cars typically rot), so I ended up getting another one that was in ALOT better condition. Sadly, I had to sell Sophia.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: I love/ loved this car.  They are getting harder to find in "unmolested" condition.  They are very popular for drag racing because they are light, and have full frames.  So they are often cut up and modified for racing.

Cons: I had to sell her.

Its A Beast Haha — The G body is starting to rot in the back. But its NY car other than that its clean. The engine...its a beast till i have to tell someone it makes only 125Hp. It handles like a dream. I love this car wouldnt trade it for anything...except maybe a Camaro

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Its an amazing car for being 30 yrs old

Cons: No reason at all

My Toy — the car is fun to drive. got lots of power its not a hand full to handle when your getting on it. and the other thing i like about it. it will get 18 mile per gallons. the other bad thing about the car is it needs more power now

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: its was built to be drove

Cons: parts can be hard to fine but there out there

Its Fun But Not For Long — overall - its engine came out with a whooping 80-100hp (it rivals a smart car, a prius would beat it in hp and torque) but after 20 yrs of abuse and im guess no oil change or tune up the engine and tranny beat expetations, when i got it it needed over $2,000 in work to get to basics again (drop a 350 and call it a day lol) but i couldnt build quality - its kind ahrd to mess that up i loved the way it looked, oh i forgot, in santee i got pulled over for not using my turn signal, so i showed the cop the lever and said i need to get it fixed lol, cheapest insurance ever, it was fun to drive this car, i could go around and mess it up

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: i didnt care what happend to it

Cons: it breaks down alot

Good Basic Older Vehicle, Capable Of Serious Performance If So Equipped. — this is a relatively reliable, basic vehicle that has a rock solid suspension and reasonable handling. because it's mid-sized, it's reasonably easy to park too. (unlike the longer chevy caprice, which i've also owned.) minor gripes include low power in stock form, even with the optional V8, although mine had the 229 ci v6. transmission is a low end unit with only 3 speeds. 0-60 times are more like that of a truck than a car. also, the rearmost framework is prone to rusting out and falling off (!) causing the back bumper to fall off. this can be repaired again but considering the age of the car and the lack of collect-ability of this generation of Malibu. On the plus side, there is many aftermarket parts out there to make these vehicles serious performers.. These cars often times are stripped down and lightened for stock car racing, so numerous suspension and engine upgrades are out there.

Pros: comfortable to drive, reasonable fuel mileage, decent handling, huge aftermarket support.

Cons: frame rust in the rear, underpowered engines in stock form, weak transmissions, old style
V-belt engine belts. (prone to squealing on cold days)

1980 Malibu Classic Landau Coupe — As simple as I love it! This car has much better design than the previous generation, lighter, clean appeareance and is smarter in roominess, talking about space I just complaint a little about rear seat, I think there was room for improvement but is ok. This car runs quarter mile in high 15s at 2600 mt. above sea level, I think is good for a daily driver car, its equipped with police brakes wich are excellent in durability, quite and super smooth ride, you could move the steering wheel just with a finger. Good build quality, all the chromme is still there, the same with the most of the materials used in the interior, and there are no much creaking, they say it seems those old chevys were built to be alive forever

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: design, classic, quite luxorious and sporty appeareance, power in straight line.

Cons: a little thirsty even for a V8, instrument cluster design, no seat belts for rear seat.
