I Love This Car So Much That A Will Like To Instal A V-8 Engine. — I use this car for fun and maybe racing, when the 4 cylinders engine be replaced with a V-8

Regular Maintenance On 5.0 V8 — Regular maintenance is a must for all cars, but the previous owner neglected this one. Slowly but surely I've replaced everything except the transmission.I've done all the work myself, & it was easy. Now I just drive it & check fluid levels, & never have to add or fix anything 'till the next service... except gas. To help traction I put on larger rear tires & a thicker sway bar.The car doesn't spin out now,& corners excellent without leaning. Good luck finding one... I've only seen a few left on the road. Plenty at the wrecker though. I never broke down once in 14 yrs. The car never left me stranded... Regular routine maintenance really works.

1979 Ford Mustang Hatchback Pace Car RWD Review
Up to about three years ago this was my daily ride. It was completely restored inside and out with a 5.0, 4 barrel carb and an automatic transmission. Mechanically,. almost nothing was stock so it did have more power than the original production car. It handled well but could have used anti lock brakes as it way more had more go than whoa. Very enjoyable to drive though. Fuel economy ranged between 13 and 22 mpg and then I crashed it. End of ride.

Power Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD better.
"The stock 4.6 V8 in the 09 has a hundred more HP than the stock 5.0 in the Pace Car. More if you take the limiter adjustment out of the computer."
Handling Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD better.
"Leather seats and good padding made these seats very comfortable. Inadequate stock padding made the Pace Car somewhat less comfortable on long trips."
Looks/Style Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD better.
"I was OK with the style of the Pace Car, and I really liked the outlandish paint scheme. The 2009 took its styling cues from the 1966 Mustang Fastback though, which I infinitely prefer in any color to the Pace Car."
Front Seats Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD better.
"You pay between $7000 and $13,000 for a car ready to go with excellent handling, braking and 300 HP. I would have to add that much money to the price of the Pace Car, or even the two 67 Mustangs I owned previously to get that kind of power. Additionally running 300 HP through a Fox body frame is asking for disaster unless you make significant chassis upgrades. This little hot rod is ready to go right out of the box. Just depends what youre looking for I guess."
Back Seats Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD worse.
"The 09 has no room between the backseat and the front seat back. Its a joke to call it a four seater. This is because the seats have more padding. Because of the smaller amount of padding in the Pace Car seats you could actually put a small child in the back seat and with a little more effort, a small adult but no one would be comfortable then, front or back."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD worse.
"Both vehicles feature flip down rear seats so cargo capacity runs from the back of the car to the back of the rear seats. so cargo space is similar there but...if the rear seats are up the trunk in the 09 has at least twice as much room for luggage over the 79 Fox body."
Family Car Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD worse.
"As I said above, because of the smaller amount of padding in the Pace Car seats there is more room for passengers in the back."
Value Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD better.
"This 5 speed demon replaced my previous 79 Pace Car about 3 years ago. Excellent car and excellent value per pony. Handling is superb and speed is fantastic. 151 mph unless you remove the limiter in the computer, replace the heads and add a decent air dam, then you can get around 200 mph out of it! In stock trim with the 4.6 I get around 19-21 mpg around town and as high as 27 mpg on the highway. You must drive it sanely to get these numbers though. No one with legs below their knees is going to fit in the backseat though as that is right up against the front seat back. With the rear seat flipped down you have some pretty decent luggage room though. Its been across the US 5 times with absolutely no problems. For one or two people this is an excellent car. I would have to add that much money to the price of the Pace Car, or even the two 67 Mustangs I owned previously to get that kind of power. Additionally running 300 HP through a Fox body frame is asking for disaster unless you make significant chassis upgrades. This little hot rod is ready to go right out of the box.The Pace Car I had is valued at almost $27,000 to start with no upgrades. Just depends what youre looking for I guess."
Would Buy Ranked 2009 Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe RWD better.
"As I said above, You pay between $7000 and $13,000 for a car ready to go with excellent handling, braking, fuel economy, speed, 300 HP and harkens back to the body style of a 66 Mustang Fastback that you can drive comfortably for days. The Pace Car I had is valued at almost $27,000 to start that didnt handle nearly as well."
