Tom's 1974 Mercury Capri — It was my first car! and the fun times I had with her were great! I put a header on it (sounded like a John Deer) and once drove it for 6 weeks (on a bet) with a broken clutch cable...

Pros: My first car! I'm SUPPOSED to have loved this car...

Cons: No backseat action in THIS car... I'm 6'4"!

1974 Mercury CapriReview

It Got Me Around...sometimes. — when I had this car, it had the worst problems from the gear shift breaking off in my hands to at leat 6 clutch cables breaking! It was fun to drive but it never was running.... Always in the shop! I even got to be "friends" with the local Ford warranty representative. At least some of the engine problems were paid for.Appearance was OK but I was quick to get rid of it in 1979.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good color combo

Cons: never again
