43 Years Old Car Still Running Without Major Overhauls — Can't complain, have had the car for over 43 year. One off-body restoration in 1992. Still running fine, only put an average of 13 miles a month on it to keep it running. Has many Olds 442 parts added including 4-on-the-floor

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Over 200,000 miles and still running

Cons: Slight rusting, gas mileage

Awesome! — I bought a '72 LeMans when I was 16, lost it when I went in the Army and 25 years later I found another one like it. Only, my latest has buckets, a/c, and a 400/400T instead of a 350/350T. It drives so smooth, handles like a dream, and has plenty of torque. I drove it from Nebraska to Missouri (600mi) and got 15.7 mpg.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Appearance, quality, power

Cons: Aint any!

I Should Have Gotten The Base 455 V -8 Engine Instead Of The Ho With This Car. — I owned a new 1972 Pontiac LeMans with a 455HO engine. It was red with honeycomb mags and tan bucked seats. It had great power and looks, but I had it back to the dealer numerous times with engine problems.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: looks, power, good 3-speed automatic

Cons: engine reliability, gas mileage

It Is Awesome — It is awesome it will get right up and go if you can grab traction and keep the front wheels on the ground. it was completely redone when my dad got the car and we put the engine in it.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: it has a 455 big block with a 4 barrel carb.

Cons: 3 mpg

Great Car — Under rated to the GTO, mine was olive green and had low miles when I bought it, I had it 10 years. The day after I sold it I tried to buy it back for double!

Pros: fast

Cons: none
