1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Overview

While the interior of the 1972 Monte Carlo remained largely unchanged from the 1971 version, the model did see some exterior changes. In addition, due to new industry regulations, horsepower in all cars had to be calibrated differently. The base 350-ci, 5.7-liter was rated at 165 horsepower, while the top-of-the-line 454-ci, 7.4-liter was rated at 270.

A Monte Carlo Custom trim was available for this model year only, mostly to replace the SS, which was dropped from the line.
