My First Car! — First car I owned. Paid $600 for it. Equipped with a 200 c.i. I-6, 3-speed manual. Was some sort of sport appearance package that I never researched... it had a chrome air cleaner cover, no "air scoop" trim on the side, a center console, and fake spoke wheel covers. Transmission was apparently made of glass. Actually I understand it was made for Ford in the U.K. It was, however, a weak link... even with the 6 cyl. engine. A stronger Ford Maverick transmission would fit behind the 200 c.i. engine, but required a different drive shaft.

Pros: Fun car.

Cons: 60's handling and brakes.  Heavy and underpowered.

Beauty, Speed, Tradition. —

This car is fantastic. It has been in the family for almost 40 years. Brief history, my grandfather bought it for my father when he left for college in 1971. My father kept it even when it deteriorated. In the mid 90's when my brother and I turned 16... my father made the wise decision to put money into the car instead of buying us a honda civic - licke everyone else. Remains in the family and has no price tag. Fastback 2+2 model. 289 V8 with a an addition of dual ehaust, 4 barrel intake, GT wheels. It is a cruise-o-matic 3 speed automatic (slap shifter) also known as the green dot drive. Parchment leather interior, fm radio with cassette (need to be replaced). 240,000 miles Two rebuilt motors and two rebuilt transmissions - we don't exactly drive it slow. Not the fast car performance wise, but not too shabby either. Handling is a bit suspect, a product of its era. Not too heavy wich helps a great deal. Added disc breaks to the front which has been pretty helpful. Even though it is not modern - the simplicity makes it. Still better performance than the great majority of vehicles on the raod today. A pure joy to drive. British Racing green in color and rare at that. For every 1 Fastback made there were 4 convertables and 16 coupes. So it is a bit rare and the color makes it even more so. Bottom Line... it is a HEAD TURNER!

Pros: Pretty Quick and a little muscle to boot. Staggering beauty. Never a disapointment behind the wheel.

Cons: Suspention update would be an upgrade that would put it far ahead. Money pit.

Bought It When It Wasn't Running, So We've Come A Long Way! — Needs some more work. Tweaking of the clutch and such. Needs some body work before we paint it. Front seats need to be replaced if ever going to drive it without seat covers, but I have pony interior in the back!

Pros: Drives nice when you're moving.  Lots of power with a V-8.

Cons: A hydraulic clutch would make a world of difference.  Needs a lot of work because it sat so long before we bought it.  Difficult to maneuver from a dead stop.

I Love My Stang!! — A very nice car for its age, has some quirks because of a previous owner but I am slowly fixing those problems.

Pros: 302 Engine

Cons: Needs a wiring job thanks to the previous owner...
