A Classic Muscle Car — With some paint, some engine work, a new heater, all the rust patched and a new hubcap, this would be a show winner for sure. As it is, it's dangerously overpowered and uncomfortably underheated for winter driving. But sure is lots of fun squealing those rears.

Pros: Loud, almost unmuffled exhaust, lots of horses.

Cons: Loud, almost unmuffled exhaust, lots of horses.

Absolutely. Beautiful. — It's an absolutely beautiful car with an awesome V8 that produces an amazingly amount of HP. The same can't be same for the brakes or steering. Without power to either, it's an extremely difficult car to drive below 30mph. And, as of now, the AC doesn't work, and the radio only receives the oldies station (irony...).

    Pros: Gorgeous. Powerful. Classic.

Cons: No power steering or brakes, radio, or AC.

Pros: It's sleek lines and awesome performance.

Cons: Not a thing. It was totally awesome

Awesome. — Being 42 years old, there is plenty of rust, and plenty of things that make it look like it's 42 years old. But its the fact that it's a 1965 Ford Mustang that keeps me going. The interior is awesome, except for the fact that there are no seatbelts in the back seat. Good pickup, nice handling, which is cool considering it's a rack and pinion (manual) steering.

Pros: A great ride, it's cool to see people you just passed looking back at your car.

Cons: Costly, especially when it comes to gas. 91 premium. Ouch.

A Car That You Can Make Original Even If Everyone Has One! — A great car to make a show car and you can have fun with the power. This car is impossible to not have fun with!

Pros: Wonderful to work on and easy to fix!

Its A Great Car — When you shine it up and make the paint sparkle in the sun, nothing else is compared to at that moment. It drives pretty good with minor adjustments. Its the essential classic muscle car because of its slick lines and smoothe curves around the tires and engine. The engine roars pretty loud with a few shakes but its stamina maintains its overall performance.

If You Got A Garage, This Is A Great Choice For A Classic (antique Soon). —

This '65 took me 3 years to assemble. Most of the pieces are stock. I did all the work myself, saving thousands of dollars on labour. The motor was an over heating 289, which I just changed to a 302 (2010). I had an extra engine, from my '79 5.0, that has only about 20,000km, so I used it. Perfect fit exactly the same mountings. The engine to transmission gaskets (steel plate) were different so the original '65 one was used. '79 has slightly different bell housing. I also just put a 4 bbl Holley carb, with a stock 4 bbl 289 intake manifold, on the 302 motor, and had to change over, all the covers & pans. As far as I know, so far everything is good and powerful. All the steering and suspension is also new, and this car rides rails, if you know what I mean. I usually put only 100-200 miles a year, since I bought it in Sept of 2004. On an average of 1 tank of gas a year). But this year (2011) I put 2500 miles on it, drove to the Okanagan and back, with no problems. It usually spends most of its life, hiding in the back yard, under a carport, collecting dust. This is the best car for me I love to drive it, but because of winter, it winds up hiding in the back yard for 6-8 months at a time. I have 2 other cars blocking my only route out, so it takes some planning, permits & aircare. I used to be scared to drive it in the rain, (boo hoo hoo, ha ha), because it might rust or even worse melt. But in the summer of 2011 I got some waterproof paint put on it. 1st time I paid someone else to do a job for me. The car is hot and sounds real good. Hard to believe it's mine. I didn't used to have it in the driveway much, fearing it will get stolen. But now I'm not too worried, added some anti theft devices, only I know about. Acceleration: is decent now (like being in a plane), Brakes: are excellent, stops on a dime. But it seems, I have to adjust the brakes on a yearly basis. Handling excellent (not lowered, actually higher than stock) Suspension and steering better than stock, decent, all new. This year (2011) added some beefy sway bars front and rear. The car does not tip at all. Exhaust: Long tube Headers, 2.5" exhaust, Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers, too loud feel the thunder... added a catalytic converter on each side, softened the sound and took the stink away of carbon monoxide, then 2.25" tail pipes, coming out the rear valance. Body: Not all body parts fit snug or flush, but reasonably close. Remember to make sure no windshield leaks, use the appropriate sealer for your climate. Interior: has new upholstery on front buckets and original on back seat. New carpets, underlay, kick panels, dash pad, glove box, instrument cluster bezel, arm rests, door handles, window cranks, doorsill chrome, door & window seals, package tray, etc. I think this car cost me a total of about $12,000, it's unofficially appraised at 21 thousand now. I'll be drivin' it every year for 3-4 months. I stripped down my '79 5.0 and sold several pieces on ebay, and locally. (the '79 got interior rot). Recommend to a friend: *NO* I'm jealous, get a chevy.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: This is a great car to drive, no problems yet, head turner.

    Cons: worry about rust.

A Sweet Looking Ride Thats Tons Of Fun! — This car is originally from California. No rust when bought and the paint and interior came as is. However, the engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension had to be rebuilt for safer driving. Total rebuild only took about 8 months. Most of the parts are readily available through magazines. There good parts too (most of them). Its only a 6cyl and a 3 speed manual, but its still a ton of fun to drive. Can still cruise at 70-75 on the highway. This summer is going to be the first summer that I have it and its going to be great. Cant wait!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: People love the car. They always ask about it and think it looks great. The parts were cheap, available and mostly great condition. Fun rebuild great for car starters like myself who want to learn the basics of cars. It doesn't get much simpler than this.

Cons: Had to replace from drum brakes with disc. The car would just stop. It handles like a standard car from 1965 should handle. Floaty handling and the front still has to settle down due to the new springs in the front.
