Red Cars Look Good, Don’t They?
For your weekend pleasure, here are some photos (from Autoblog and InsideLine) of the 2011 Audi R8 Spyder. The car has finally been seen in the flesh at the L.A. Auto Show. We recently made some negative remarks about Audi’s A8 styling, but this car puts the package together beautifully. And the details are extraordinary.
The mid-mounted engine is a V10, making 525 hp and getting to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds. It’s a quattro, of course, with all the techno-goodies one could want. The press release with full details is here. You don’t want to know what it will cost (no price issued yet), and you can’t buy it in the U.S. until late summer. But this is one
state-of-the-art machine—as it should, be since it will go head to head with the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder, Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, and Ferrari California.
Okay, which would you rather have—price being no object—the Gallardo Spyder, the 911 Cabriolet, the California, or the R8 Spyder?
