1996 GMC Sierra Club Cab 4x4 Just Quit Running When , I Was Driving It . So...

1996 GMC 135,000 miles. Ran like a top 5.7 motor. truck just turned off while I was driving it. Odd sound can't tell where it coming from. Does not smoke, Does not seem like a rod gone out?
