Charging Issue

I just put a new alternator on a 2007 pt cruiser. Battery light is still on and does when you unhook the battery. This was a real pain replacing. Please tell me my new alternator is not bad.

My oil light keeps coming on when I am driving. I'm at the Stop light or am idling at it. The car has 169,876 miles on it. The oil level is full. What's the possible issues that may be there?
