My first car was a '65 Corvair Monza sedan that I got for $20. with a full tank of gas. I just had to fix the starter and it ran! I fixed up the car and drove it on my honeymoon from Florida to Green Bay, Wis. and the only problem I had was the one year old fuel pump failing in Chicago. I have had a '65 Corsa turbo coupe (locked up motor-never ran), a '66 Corsa conv't. and a '67 Monza conv't.
I also had a '66 Impala S.S. with a 327/PG and factory air. None were show cars, but they were fun! Of course, I had regular cars like an '86 Taurus wagon, '90 Eclipse that we traded for a '91 Explorer (after our first child)that we rolled 4 times while towing the '66 Corsa (due to a deer, not tires), '96 Grand Voyager, '01 PT Cruiser, and '02 Town and Country (last two are our daily drivers). My daughter just turned 16 and I got her a '97 Saturn SL2 sedan that has less miles than our cars! I have repaired and maintained all of these cars and many others for friends and family. Just a hobby - I have done laser optic coating for 25 years and just sold new and used cars for 4 months. Currently seeking new work.
