An Honest Mechanic — I cannot rate Becka Automotive for the quality of their work, but I can rate them on their integrity. While driving to Yuma last weekend, my ‘check engine’ light came on. When I got back home I did a quick web search to locate a reputable repair place for my vehicle. The reviews of Becka were positive, so I decided to take my vehicle down there. Dan, the service manager, told me that there would be a $95 charge to diagnose the problem but first he wanted to take the car for a test drive with me. He listened intently to my story and took the car out for a test drive. He discussed what he thought might be the problem, and when we got back to the shop he pulled out his ODB reader and read the ‘check engine’ diagnostic code. What he found was a relatively minor code, but he explained that it may be indicative of a larger problem. He recommended that I take the vehicle to a transmission shop for a better analysis. He did not charge me anything for the diagnosis. This was probably the best experience I have ever had with a repair shop. I finally found a company that is concerned with the quality of their work and is not going to practice outside their scope of expertise, just to make a quick buck. Thank you Dan, and thank you Becka Automotive. If I ever need work done on my vehicle, you will be at the top of my list.
