2006 Toyota RAV4 Base V6 Review

“good but get a 2007 or newer. skip the 06”
This is a fantastic vehicle overall but I recommend that if you purchase one that you buy a 2007 or newer. The 2006 was the first of it's kind and has a LOT of bugs (mainly bad coils). Also the transmission shifts strangely and soils it's fluid quickly. I expect a shorter than average lifespan for this tranny.

"This was the third out of four cars we had selected to look at. It fit our needs better than the previous two. When we asked to test drive it the saleman said we had to fill out paperwork first including financing. When I told him we had been pre-approved from our credit union the salesman went in to see the sales manager. He came back out saying that the only way they would sell the car at the advertised price is if we would finance through them! We walked away. Ended up buying the fourth car on our list that day from another dealer."

"I found The Connection Motors quite straightforward to deal with.
When I said that I wanted to think about the purchase, David R behaved like an adult and let me go. Had he done otherwise I would not have returned and bought the car. I have since had it checked out and it is in excellent condition. The only negatives were advertising the Nissan as SL instead of the basic S, and initially quoting a $995 dealer fee (which I did not pay). Overall an efficient and pleasant transaction."
