2007 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Premium Review
by ChrisMGM07

This is a world-class car with a world-class ride!

This is a Boss Hogg car. It's all about room, storage, and comfort. No foot-wide center console here, just plenty of room to spread out. Acceleration is good, not great, considering this is a V-8 powered car. Passing power is great. Due to its Ford cousin being a cop car and taxi, everything on this car is heavy-duty. It can drive all ...

Avg. Dealer Rating: (31 reviews) "I arrived at Lindsay Ford in Wheaton, MD around 3:00 pm Sunday February 22nd, 2015. I had been emailing with the dealership for a few days prior regarding a specific car on their lot. The price listed ($21,130) was very appealing. According to the emails, they would be able to honor the internet price if I printed it out and brought it in with me (I did). At this point, I should mention that I had financing already in place, and was looking to purchase this particular vehicle. I test drove it, and was happy enough, so sat down at the salesman’s desk. I was quoted a price several thousand dollars higher than was advertised. I countered with the email and internet price, and was told that it couldn’t be honored. We negotiated terms for roughly an hour, at which time I got up to leave. As I was walking towards the parking lot, another salesperson positioned themselves between me and the door. In hindsight, I should’ve trusted my gut at this point and ran away as fast as I could, but didn’t. I was stopped by a friendly hand on the shoulder, a gesture towards the desk, and continued conversation about the car. I began indicating that I was not interested & just wished to leave. Over the next several hours, I made repeated attempts to walk towards the door. Each time was the same as the first with a person physically blocking my exit, while another persuaded me back to the table. Each time I objected to the proposal they were offering, and reiterated my desire to leave. I’m not sure how long this part of the process went on, but terms and conditions of the sale were constantly in flux. Somewhere along the line, I was not even sure what they were offering. The sales manager sat down at the desk and began discussing leasing options. I explained that I was originally interested in buying the car, not leasing; but now simply wished to leave. He stated that I would not be leaving without the car. The business was scheduled to close at 6:00pm. They did close up shop around that time, but several customers were still in the dealership. I again made numerous attempts to leave, each time to be spun back around to the negotiating table. I expressed to the sales manager that I was tired, hungry, and confused by the terms they were offering. I felt exhausted, off balance, and very anxious. Around 10:15 (more than 7 HOURS after I arrived), I reached some breaking point. I agreed to the offer they presented for a 36 month lease, at a payment roughly $70/mo higher than I had planned. I was not interested in the car, I simply wanted to go home. In a way that’s hard to describe, I felt like I was signing my own ransom. That I was being held, and had to pay for my release. The paperwork was ready quickly, I signed and stepped outside. During the closing, I had agreed to leave my own car on the lot for 2 days until I could return with a 2nd driver to take it home. Finally, I left the building and could drive off. I just wanted to get as far away from there as I could. Approximately a block later, I pulled over to vomit. I did not sleep Sunday night; I felt violated. I spent the night online looking for ways to unwind the lease contract. I contacted the dealer the next morning (both by email and phone) to discuss my desire not to lease the car. The salesman apologized, and indicated that the sales manager would call me back; he did not. After work that day (Monday), I drove to the dealership to discuss options (including forfeiting a down payment I had also agreed to finance), and was told that I am ‘not allowed to just change my mind and return a car’. The sales manager at this point was very gruff and unpleasant to deal with. I indicated that I had already reached out to my lawyer and the attorney general to discuss what options I had. He said that I needed to get my (newly leased) car off his lot right now, I explained that it would just be in the parking space my car would otherwise occupy for a couple of days. I got into my old car (not the leased one) and drove home. Sometime that night, the car was ‘delivered’ (without my knowledge or consent) to my home. When I woke up the next morning, the car was there, with keys left inside. I have no idea how long it was there, or why someone would leave the keys in a car, or even why they would feel the need to ‘sneak’ it to my house in the middle of the night. I have had no contact with the dealership since. I can not begin to describe how terrible this experience has been. I have not yet driven the leased vehicle (other than the test drive). My only consolation is that I was eventually allowed to leave, and it only cost me 36 months of payments."

I would call and ask to speak with someone about bringing it in for repairs to which I would be put on hold for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, told that someone would call me back and then they never would. It took me three weeks of calling and showing up at national motors to finally get a time a appointment to get my car fixed. On a positive note, Matt in service is great to work with"
