1997 Lexus LS 400 Base Review
by Westie

A lasting keeper.

It is a very smooth, powerful and elegant cruiser. The quality is excellent and it is beautiful in creamy white. Purchased used from neighbor who always garaged it. Have driven it for a year and 15K miles with much pleasure and plan to keep it. Mileage now at 135K.

Avg. Dealer Rating: (2 reviews) "Horrific experience!!! DO NOT use this dealership! We found a vehicle that was listed at a fair price there online. Had numerous conversations with "Kevin". Completed the finance app and was given the approval over the phone. A ridiculously (bordering on illegally) high interest rate, but, desperate for a vehicle, we agreed to it. We live 2 hrs away from dealership, so wanted to make sure everything would go smoothly when we arrived, and we were assured. After the 2 hr ride, we get there and Kevin is dilly-dallying around for about an hour or so. Look at car--but can't rest drive, because they can't seem to find dealer plates (what?!?!). Car is more banged up than showed in photos, but we were still willing to go thru w deal. Finally sit down with Kevin (who, btw, keeps a bottle of cologne called "pride" on his desk next to his printer. It must be his only way to feel that emotion with what he does). Anyway, he shuffles the papers to sign, begin signing, when it catches our eye that the agreed upon sale price is now over $1000 higher (which is 20% more than agreed upon). Plus, the interest rate was insane. (With a 650 credit rating....not perfect but not terrible either). When asked about it, dear Kevin said it was a "bank fee". It was not listed as a fee of any sort, it was added into the sale price. They refused to honor their online price, the price we agreed upon over the phone, and so off we drive 2 hrs home. Terrible experience!!!!! But a bike instead of a car from them!!!"
