I sold high line cars for years, explained my profession and experience to the sales manager "Joel" and drove 3 hours for a price that I was promised would be "no big deal". Upon arrival, I was met by a seedy looking salesman, dressed fairly unprofessionally, wearing white shoes. I asked to speak to the sales manager and he came out to tell me that he "meant to call" (I'm assuming he ran out of time during my three hour drive), but unfortunately we were a bit off on our deal. Almost 4,000 off. I asked if he was serious and he confirmed. when I asked what had happened to our verbal agreement he shrugged. So having driven three hours, I decided to look at the vehicle none the less. It was priced over book, and the rear passenger door had been repaired by a vendor that must have been drunk. There was overspray all over the place, and you could clearly tell there was hastily applied bondo. When I walked back inside to inquire about the car (the poorly dressed salesman, and his dishonest manager had walked back inside after telling me I was out of luck) I was told that the vehicle had a clear carfax. I'm sure that this piece of info was true. I wouldn't have paid more than 500 for that bondo/paint job either. I even asked them to go under full suggested retail, as I'd have to have the door properly fixed. I was told that it was impossible, and that I was wasting their time. After talking with these jokers a bit longer, they offered to strip the Infiniti certification (certified warranty) off the car to get it closer to the price I wanted. FYI all, Infiniti... they don't really like that at all. Great way for a dealer to lose their cars. Then I was told the warranty cost, cost, them 3,000. Again, good piece of info for all you Infiniti buyers, certified warranty cost to dealer is 965. Great full aftermarket warranty for 4 yrs/48k miles, $100 deductible, for a car still covered under manufacturers is about 1100, cost. When I questioned this, I was told that I was wasting his time, and he said I was lying. I offered to get a current Finance Manager at a dealership I won't disclose, on the phone. He implied I should leave. The entire time he was acting ridiculously, I remained calm and respectful, so I thanked him for the wonderful drive down Hwy37, and left. Keep in mind, Infiniti of Marin is connected (sister stores) with Infiniti if Elk Grove. If you're looking for a fair car buying experience, I would go to Sacramento Infiniti, or you'd probably even be better off going to a pot lot than Marin. I generally refer deals to stores I've had good experiences with, and this won't be one of them. The lack of morality, the lack of professional courtesy shown to me, and the lack of dress shoes on the 20 year old salesman left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope their branding is pulled by Infiniti, they're a disgrace to a profession turned sour by such debauchery."
