I talked to a very nice salesman about three times to make sure that everything was in order because my girlfriend and I were going to have to drive for over 2 hours just to go test drive it, so I wanted to make sure that we could test drive it and buy in one trip. I made it very clear that we could not spend over $15000, ($200 above the asking price....) He made it very clear that it would not be a problem and that "They never lost a sale over price." When we got there the test drive went fine. Then we got to the sales desk where we expected to simply pay for it and leave. ( we were paying cash... When the salesman brought over the paperwork the total was $15,800. I asked him why it was not only over their asking price, but also over the price that I had told him that we could pay. He went back to his 'Sales Manager', the returned saying that " The sales manager had sold the car earlier that day to someone else, but we could still buy it if we paid Every Fee and Tax and Asking price...." This seemed odd because I had just been on the phone with the dealership before driving to the dealership and nothing was mentioned. After spending 45 minutes going back and forth with a very Shady Acting Sales Manager, they were still at $15,400, which was $600 above asking price!!! They also had listed that the Jeep was a Manual Transmission and had the Tow Package, neither of which was true. ( They offered to put on a tow package for us for an additional $400.) I told him that we were willing to pay $200 over the asking price, for a grand total of, wait for it,,,$15,000. As previously mentioned, the max that we could pay and also $200 over the asking price. They basically tried to play every Sleezy Sales Game under the sun, so we walked out and bought another jeep at a different lot a few days later. The tragic thing about this whole experience is that if they hadn't tried to lie and cheat from the first moment we stepped into the sales room, we probably would have bought it for a little more. The car was still for sale the next day, and for a week after that, so obviously they hadn't sold it that day, as stated by the Sales manager. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. They were dishonest and made promises that were not kept. The trip was a waste of time and money with the exception of a really good German restaurant down the street:)"

I told Mr. Perry the situation of my Mother passing away in August and that my Father was her care giver for the past eight years and in by doing so had really got himself in a mess financially and had ruined his credit. I had checked with a few other dealerships as well as my Fathers credit Union and had no luck. He started showing me a few used vehicles but before our conversation was over he had moved to a new Elantra Coupe that he wanted me to take to my Dad about thirty miles away and keep it overnight. When I brought my Dad back the next day he picked out a very nice Elantra Sedan that he liked better. It was a bit more but Mr. Perry went to bat for him and got him in a brand new 2013 Hyundai Elantra with very affordable payments, something I didn't think could happen. If you have a circumstance and trying to get a car seems hopeless, I suggest you go see Floyd Perry at Keith Hawthorne Hyundai in Gastonia/Lowell. It may not happen for you but if you give Mr. Perry an opportunity to try, he will work hard to make something happen. Very pleasant experience and one that took a lot of stress off of my family.
