1997 Dodge Intrepid 4 Dr STD Sedan Review

“Great car”
Bought in 1998 with 25,000 miles on it. Base model had been a rental. Now has 175,000 miles. It gets 25-28 mpg in real world driving. Replaced water pump and timing belt twice, which is about a $500.00 job but needs to be done every 75,000 miles. Replaced front brakes several times, but never needed to replace rear brakes. Needs struts I'm told...

"While the car looked good in the picture, mechanically it was terrible. When I called to ask questions before I drove the 185 miles, they said that it "drove fine from the auction". They could not tell me if the 4-wheel drive worked or why the driver side tire was actually the spare. We test drove another vehicle which in the same price range. While it was mechanically fine, the body was rusted out in many spots. They would not negotiate price and pretty much said they were done dealing with us. I would never recommend this used car deal to anybody."
