After arriving at Sheehy to test drive and possibly purchase, was passed onto a far less knowledgeable sales rep who had a difficult time communicating in general, much less information about the car and options available. The entire experience with him was a huge turnoff. After trying to leave, the manager came in and started wheeling and dealing, trying to close the deal. After finally settling on a number that WE thought included all taxes (because we had specifically asked), we got the contract reflecting an amount $2k over what we expected to pay. We asked the manager about the discrepancy, who quickly said that was what we had been discussing the whole time. Another huge turnoff. The financial department and tags/title departments also had a hard time communicating, and after multiple calls was finally able to get an extension on temporary plates (almost a week after they had expired) while the permanent tags were being processed. If I hadn't made contact with them about the temporary tags expiring and the need for an extension, I would probably still be driving around with expired tags. Doesn't seem like something the customer should be responsible for. Overall, was not impressed with this dealership. "

Avg. Dealer Rating: (2 reviews) "Buying a used car at Antwerpen VW? Beware. When buying a used car at Antwerpen VW they will attempt to charge you a FREIGHT fee of about $800. This is simply fraud. There is no freight cost and this freight fee is a fictitious charge they made up at Antwerpen VW to boost the price which by the way is never advertised but is always added to the price AFTER you have indicated you are interested in the car. There is no such freight, they are lying to you. Used cars are 99% of the times trade-ins that are NOT transported from anywhere. If you ask about that freight fee, they will give you a long winded lie. Sometimes in order to sell you a car and lead you to believe you are getting a great deal they will say they will forgo the freight fee and reduce the price by that infamous FREIGHT $800 fee. The only freight cost for about 1% of the used cars sold is when Antwerpen VW buys cars at LOCAL auctions and offers them for sale as used cars. Another way they steal money from you at Antwerpen VW is with that butt-ugly pinstripe they add to all their cars. At Antwerpen VW they charge $300 for that pinstripe which really costs only $15!!!! Say NO to pinstripes or if you like the pinstripe, make sure they charge you a reasonable price and not the $300 they normally get away with. Another dirty trick, at Antwerpen VW sales people are instructed and required to always lure you into their offices and make you sit down in their offices, weather you are just kicking tires or comparing cars. The most common way they use this technique is with your driver license. Try it yourself. If you happen to be out ion the lot at Antwerpen VW and a salesman asks if you would like to test drive a car, he will ask you for your driver's license, which in 99% of the cases people will reach for their wallets and hand it to the salesman. Next move the salesman will begin walking towards the office with YOUR license and he will say follow me so we can fill our the paperwork to drive the car or something like that. What do you do? He has your license, right? You follow him. Notice the salesman will not stop or wait for you. He will not even hold the door for you. All he wants is for you to follow him inside where he has the advantage and can ask you all the probing questions that will allow him to fill his Worksheet and win the sale. Another one of their dirty tricks. If you have a trade-in and mention that when ready you would like to trade-in your car, they will insist to have it appraised right away and will insist it will only take a few minutes, but here is the catch. It does not take just a few minutes and they will hold on to your keys as a way to prevent you from leaving the store. Beware of this dirty trick and if you agree to have your car appraised just "to get an idea of how much you could get" and really have no intention of buying a new car that day, make sure you get your keys back right away, otherwise, they will play games with you and tell you stories like "the guy that test drove your car has your keys but is not here right now; he will be right back" when in reality, your keys are probably conveniently hidden under some papers. If you fall for these tricks you are slowly falling down the Antwerpen VW black hole. "
