2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C230 Sport Review
by swestey

Get the 6-speed to truely appreciate this car!

I purchased this car after driving a Volvo s60, and a Saab 9-3. Both of those cars were excellentdrivers. The Mercedes however, is a step above in every way (except the Volvo seats). Brakes are excellent, acceleration is decent, handling is tight yet soft. This car is extremely solid and quiet. 5 stars for this car!

Avg. Dealer Rating: (2 reviews) "Contacted the dealership for info on a vehicle. Sales person contacted me quickly via email and asked when I could come see it. After a bit of phone tag, I spoke with the sales person to arrange a test drive. Dealer told me price was 20% higher than their advertised price. Their explanation was that it was an error. Maybe it was but if this is a bait and switch tactic, time will tell because they will do it again. Lots of buyers go to a lot with a well priced car, even if that is not the car they are looking for because it demonstrates the likelihood of finding a great deal. The sales people who contacted me did apologize, but told me they could not honor the price. They were friendly and polite. That is the only reason for the second star. It's possible it is a mistake, but this is the kind of thing that gives car dealers a bad reputation. A five star review to me means the kind of dealership who does the right thing. When there is a mistake or misquote by a reputable business, they make it right and those are the businesses that command the loyalty of their customers. None of these car dealers are losing any money at the profit markup they apply on the cars on their lot. A five star rated dealer would do what it takes to maintain their reputation. An extra profit on one car would not be worth demonstrating a terrible example of an underhanded sales tactic. So, maybe it's a mistake or maybe it's how they do business. Use caution and make your own decisions."
