never had a prob with mine. besides replacing a gas tank.  but other then that it has no problems even for having 200,000 plus miles.

Pros — fast, reliable, great fun off-road
Cons — GAS!!!, handling not great but its jeep.

7 inch long-arm lift, 33's, ford 9inch,  dana super 30, locked, 4.56s. Man i have to much work into this thing :)

I bought this for 1,000 bucks after it had slain 3 deer and overheated and had other issues. I should have known from the start when Torry took us to do cookies in the mormon church parking lot. Sheesh.
It was a great jeep, i installed a new stereo system, new high performance cooling system, new front grille, new headlights(2 times!) and a full interior out of a 1996 jeep cherokee sport with leather. It was prime and Nice until we went drift busting after lastyears 5ft of snow.
We got buried up to the middle of the wheels and kept trying to rock it out,finally we called for a tow and got pulled out. the engine made a knock since that so I sold it for my europe trip(i planned to do that anyways, but took a huge loss due to the fact that the engine was bummed up!)
the old guy that bought it still drives it around sometimes, so its still in service!

Pros — Powerful inline 6 4.0 liter high output with plenty of power to roast the rear wheels and the speedo doest stop at 100 my friends it keeps going around until you lose the nerve to keep pushing it!
Cons — EXPENSIVE PARTS that are really hard to track down. Costly repairs and the more you fix the more shit it seems breaks. In the end,i had gone through the entire electrical system and rewired most of it due to a short that had burned it down before I owned it. I found that it had been totaled out once before too and was overall not a very sound Jeep.

The only thing wrong with the Jeep Cherokee (assuming you have the in line 4.0) is the braking.  And that's an easy fix with rear disc conversion kits.  There's a million peroformance upgrades, and a company that sells a 4.0 stroked and blown that puts out 500 hp.  It's sweet.

Pros — Incredible off road performance, powerful engine, strong transmission and transfer case.
Cons — Unibody construction, weak brakes.
