1998 Honda Civic 4 Dr LX Sedan Reviews

It don't need to be repaired, everything works properly. About 7 litres per 100 km. It is really great fun to drive it!! But be carefull. This car needs a good driver with experience. You need to think about it as about friend.

This car gets 38 MPG high way with a cold air intake.
Acceleration is great, no major repairs needed, and it
is fun to drive. Cost of owner ship is very low, and the
overall appearance is not bad. I love this car.

quality - doesn't need spare parts, very solidly built, original AC still working on a car 11 years old. performance is ok if you rev it high, however better or shorter gear ratios would benefit a lot. Of course, then MPG would fail.

This one was my clean titled car that I purchased out the door for 7,200 back in 2003. This was also my first manual car and I started to do those modification things on it.  It had a "mini me" swap an EX head on a non V-tec bottom end which was also ported an polished, etc and blah blah.  I got tired of it and wanted more power so I opted with a JDM B16A swap, head ported and combustion chambers cleaned and blah blah.  It definitely had enough power to compete against most 4 cylinder cars until 2005 so not too bad.  Build quality? It was great but with age of coarse things break  after almost 10 years in general it was Great Quality.  Appearance, back in the day I loved it because it holds sentimental value of my first Honda Civic. Gas when stock was 24mpg. when mini me it was 25.5mpg. And now with B16A it is 24.5mpg so not too bad with my driving cost of ownership, again it is an older car so it is hard to pin point yet extremely cheap.  Fun Factor?  I like this car alot.  

Well, the car was sold to me as a lemon. I found out, of course, after I drove it off the lot. I bought it for 17k with 30,000 miles on it. Which was a rip off b/c a month later I bought a 2000 Civic coupe with cd player and remote entry for the same price!  After I took it to a mechanic, found it had over $2,500 worth of damage done to it. 3 years after purchasing this car is when the clutch kit finally gave up on me. I was surprised it lasted that long! I have only had to keep up with regular maintenance on this car. So, the rumors about Honda's are definitely true! Performance, not really a performance car. Just a 1.6L. Its GREAT on gas. At $2.71 a gallon right now, I just filled up my tank on $20. :D Its been a great car to me and has everything I need...for now. :)
