2009 Mitsubishi Galant ES Reviews

The 2009 Mitsubishi Galant is the first Mitsubishi car I've driven since the other two are SUVs. The car isn't very common in Canada even though its Japanese, much more rare compared to the common Altima, Mazda 6, Camry and Accord. After finally getting to drive I got a better understanding why it hasn't quite caught on.

To drive the Galant actually isn't a bad car. The 4-cylinder provides constant power throughout the whole range so power wasn't an issue. In terms of steering it is rather heavy compared to every other car in this segment, this I actually like. The handling doesn't quite connect with the steering so I didn't find this portion that good.

Inside is really where the Galant falls flat. Its just overall unappealing, there's some fake wood which doesn't match with the black cheap plastic. The center console has the tin foil plastic that makes several cars look unappealing. Compared to its Japanese competition this interior is just too cheap looking. Another problem, the Mazda 6 has better driving dynamics along with a better interior meaning the Galant will only looks somewhat attractive if its very cheap.

If Mitsubishi fix the interior and improve the handling then this car will be more than a match for the great selling Camry and Accords.
