I love this car!  It's absolutely amazing and it makes me smile every time I see it.  It's wonderful for scooting around town and definitely catches people's attention!  :)  I love it!!!!!  :)  It's in the lowest road tax bracket, number 2 for insurance and gets around 50mpg (at least) so it's easy on the wallet.  The new model has been made much more sturdy than the previous one and has been given a bit more of a Mercedes look and feel in the interior.  And you'd be surprised how spacious it is!  It sounds silly but it is quite roomy inside.  And the boot can actually fit one large and one small suitcase.  Not bad for a super(super) mini!  Can you tell I love it!  ; -)

Pros — Fun to drive, makes me smile, and easy on petrol
Cons — Doesn't have the best pick up but I don't care! :)

Extra small doesn't mean unsafe. $11,500 gets you into the most fuel efficient gas only car on the market. I have driven this car 3 times and am now in line for it. Very nice. This is not a sports car. This is a city commuter. Its a bit slow to start, but is fast enough for highway use. Rated 35-40mpg, but some have reported 50+mpg. Great for anyone. Im 5ft 8 inches 150lbs, and fit nicely with my large girlfriend. There are videos of taller and larger people fitting nicely. The transmission is an automated manual. That means no clutch for stop and go traffic. It also has a sequential shifter, so you don't have to worry about which gear it is in, just up or down. It has a light on the gauge that tells you when to shift for maximum mpg. This is a lovely car, so dont knock it before you try it

Pros — Unexpectedly roomy interior, Maneuverability, Turning circle, Iconic styling, Slick convertible-top operation
Cons — High-speed stability, Limited cargo capacity, Rock-hard brakes, Unrefined auto-manual transmission, No cheaper than other small cars, Premium fuel recommended

I love my car! I've averaged 40 mpg driving around the city. It's surprisingly roomy. There's room for two people and our dog. Affordable, practical and fun!

Pros — Fun!
Cons — Speed

My dad owns this car. It would be pretty nice if you have to parallel park in the city or something, but that's about it. He loves it, but it's just not my style.

Pros — Tiny enough to fit in the most cramped of parking spots, cool removable panels that allow you to completely change the car's color in about 2 hours, head-turner, decent gas mileage (although not as good as you'd think), surprisingly safe.
Cons — Butt-ugly, slow, extremely grabby brakes (I guess that could be good in some cases), automatic shifting feels like a beginner trying to drive a stick.

The 2008 Smart ForTwo debuts as the smallest and shortest car in the U.S. The ForTwo is an ultra-compact two-seater designed and built by the Smart company, a division of Mercedes-Benz. ForTwos have been on sale in Europe and other foreign markets since 1998, but 2008 marks the car's U.S. debut. Smart has partnered with U.S. dealership network Penske Automotive Group, Inc. to form Smart USA, and the new company plans to sell the ForTwo in approximately 70 select Mercedes-Benz and stand-alone dealerships across the country. Two-door coupe and convertible body styles are offered. The sole engine is a 70-hp 3-cylinder. The sole transmission is a 5-speed automated manual that has no clutch pedal and can be set to shift like an automatic. Standard safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, and side airbags that provide head and torso protection. Coupes in base-level Pure trim come standard with manual windows and mirrors and a fold-flat passenger seat. Up-level Passion coupes add air conditioning, panoramic fixed sunroof, alloy wheels, and power windows and mirrors. Cabriolets come in Passion trim only, and include a power soft top with a heated glass rear window. Stand-alone options on all include power steering, heated seats, and an alarm system. This evaluation is based on preview test drives.

Pros — Attention getter. A full color swap is only $900.
Cons — Really noisy, rides like a tractor.

This car looks, from the outside, like you could tuck it in your pocket, but it is surprisingly
roomy inside, and really fun to drive.

Pros — Unbelievable gas mileage, very cute, draws attention
Cons — It can take 20 minutes to leave a parking lot or gas station, because this car draws a crowd

I ordered it a long time agao when I was driving a big estate/wagon around, and it occured to me that it was very silly to drve such a big vehicle around with just myself inside it. I had no plans to buy another car at that time.
Now I have the AUDI S4 and the smart, so the configuration has changed; I drive the AUDI around at weekends for laughs, and I drive the smart to work and back every day, although it turns out that the smart is a lot of fun too.

Pros — easy to park, bright, airy, silly, fun, lots of compliments, stares etc and great mpg, low price, high tech, futuristic, makes a statement especially in USA.
Cons — erformance is dreadful, auto-maual is horrible, paddle shifters move with steering wheel, lurchy progress.
