2002 Honda Odyssey EX-L Reviews
| “Used To Love My Van Until Transmission Failed At 91,000 Miles :(” We bought a Honda, because of its supposed reliability. We poured hundreds of dollars into keeping current on all of the regularly scheduled maintenance and took it in for the second gear transmission recall service when that notice came as well. We did all of this to avoid what We are going throug now. In spite of doing everything "right" on our part, our transmission failed at 91,000 miles...NOT what we expected from a Honda...and a $3900 repair bill. Honda WAS going to pay for all but $850 of it, but then changed their mind when they found out we bought our Odyssey from Military Car sales while serving our country overseas. We are very unhappy with Honda, and will probably never buy a Honda again.
Pros —
Back seat folds down easily for carrying cargo. Seat warmers in front are nice. Automatic side doors are handy...when they work properly.
Cons —
Automatic side doors can be temperamental. TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 91,000 miles.

| “Generally Solid, Safe & Dependable” Our Odyssey has been very dependable and comfortable, although transmission did have recall repairs. Too bad we can't just turn off the 5th-gear overdrive sometimes, although the computer sensor does a great job of compensating shift patterns when I tow varying loads. |
