Hell of work truck and that was good because that is exactly what i used it for. It was only a half ton truck but I loaded it double than that at least once a week the whole time I owned it, I had the smallest motor they put in them, the 4.3l v6 but it pulled everything I needed it to, I never once replaced a single part on the motor, but because of the extensive stress I was putting on the transmission hauling the loads that I knew I shouldn't have been hauling, I had blown out the transmission and thats when the truck and I parted ways, overall GREAT truck

Pros: Motors are top of the line quality, at least mine was, I was the same design as the 350 so I know the bigger motors they put in them are just as good
Cons: I've heard of my friends have transmission troubles too, not too big on the 700R4.

The 350cid small-block V8 has plenty of torque and power.  The transmission is a 4-speed (w/overdrive) and is very responsive and kicks down fairly quick when you punch it.  The beauty of the drive-train is the rear-end, a limited-slip posi.
The interior is simple, yet effective and the gauges are easy to read.  It handles like you would expect a truck to handle and the ride is actually better than what I expected.  The truck is very easy to work on and is quite reliable.  The gas mileage sucks, but that is expected in an older truck.  The styling is simple but not too simple, everything flows together smoothly.

Overall this is a very good vehicle and can be purchased for quite cheap.  However, you get a whole lot of truck for a little money.  The gas mileage is one of the few downsides.

Pros: Loads of power, reliable, cheap, easy to work on
Cons: Low gas mileage
