One of Chevy's best truck designs (I thought) were the models they had during the 90s.  This was my first car, and in some ways my first love.  She had 74,000 miles on her when I got her... and 273,000 miles on her when I traded her in.  I have never loved owning a car more than this one.  This truck was as reliable as the day is long.  The only things ever replaced were wear items (and the transmission once, but that's because my step-father used it to pull a trailer that was far too heavy) and the rear end (once).  3 batteries, 2 alternators, one water pump, one rear end, a LOT of oil changes and a few tune-ups and this truck never ever let me down.  The only time I was ever stranded was when the aftermarket alarm went on the fritz.

If you need a truck, buy a Chevy.  You'll thank me later.

Pros: Reliability, performance, utility
Cons: none

Back home, I drive my dad's old 91 Chevy Silverado. Its dependable, we have put about 350K miles with the stock drivetrain. I love the steel body work and the engine is great. However, it drinks gasoline like its going out of fashion! The 5.7l V8 has a ton of aftermarket parts for it. This truck can be completely redone to fit you needs. A rebuilt truck would offer the great low end torque that this bad boy had new.

Pros: Low end torque and dependablity.  Cheap safe vehicle thats easy on insurance.
Cons: Poor steering, poor MPG, and poor brakes. The ride quality isnt the best either.
