My husband and I were looking for a mini van upgrade for our family of six. We were so excited when we discovered the Chrysler Pacifica because it offered comfortable seating for all of us and the touring edition came with more upgrades than we could imagine. After a short test drive, we were sold! We loved the stylish exterior, ample 4.0 liter engine, decent gas mileage, dvd player, competitive price point, and every bell and whistle imaginable in the interior. One day my son decided to roll the rear driver side window down, while all the other windows were closed, and the most ear shattering noise began to permeate the vehicle. I thought we were driving directly under the path of a helicopter. I told my son to close the window, but he couldn't hear me-I'm assuming that the noise is much worse in the front. Needless to say, I had a ringing sensation in my ears for a couple hours afterwards as well as a pounding headache. My husband immediately took the vehicle back to the dealership and took both the salesman and his manager out for a spin for a demonstration. They both agreed that there was a problem, but unfortunately, there is no solution. My husband took a different Pacifica (sans moon roof and luggage rack) for a test drive and it did the same thing. I still love the Pacifica, but if we decide to keep the vehicle we must be strategic in our window opening options.
