This is the diesel model, which is quiet and odorless, unless I use bio, and then it generally smells like french fries. I bought it with 10,000 miles, and have put on 45,000 so far. The car gets amazing fuel mileage, over 50 mpg on the highway and rarely under 35 in town! I have no clue why Americans are anti-diesel, but it's about time to get over it. The car is so far advanced in emissions it doesn't even register at the  DEQ. It isn't a speed demon, but easily gets up to high speeds on cross country travel. Maintenance cost is minimal, I've only ever changed oils and filters. Stock tires are loud, but when replaced with quality Yokohamas the entire ride got way better and quieter. One problem with the trunk remote was replaced under warranty. Only problem I see is that they are very difficult to find, new or used, as they are in such high demand.

Pros — bodacious fuel mileage
Cons — comes with noisy michelin tires

Great commuter car. Great fuel economy. Unfortuneatley the room inside is rather economical. Good car for what it is....

Pros — fuel economy
Cons — Turbo lag. lack of performance. pretty much what you'd expect from a diesel. Lack of space

Gets spectacular fuel economy (about 49 average -- and this is my calculation, not the dumbass on board calculator).  Arguably the economy is not much better than a 40mpg gas car, however, given the about 20-30% premium on diesel, but still great.  700 miles per tank without blinking.

Pros — Read the review.
Cons — Eats fuel when accelerating, so you can't accelerate quickly without taking a hit, but with the turbo, it certainly has the pep if you need it.  It does have that diesel hesitation on shifting however, but you get used to it.  Great car.
