2001 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg Edition Reviews
| “Great Car At Good Price, Been Very Solid For Me.” Solid car, mostly reliable - for example, still original clutch at 180k. Occasional annoying mechanical issues and recalls. Peppy, but annoyed that the engine was limited to 150hp. Fun car to drive! It's been pretty cheap to own, just a few major repairs. The replacement parts (and service at the Stealership) can be pretty expensive though. I've made several updates and upgrades; a Cold Air Intake, upgraded Diverter Valve, short shift, etc... It's a cool car, but it's about to be replaced, I think...
Pros —
Fun, utilitarian, reliable, solid, peppy
Cons —
Repairs/parts are expensive, some quality control issues

| “Jetta” i bought this car for the gas mileage and man does it have so many other good qualities. it gets roughly about 32 mpg highway. It's such a fun car to drive as well, great handeling, great braking, and somewhat quick, and there are a lot of upgrades that are available
Pros —
gas mileage, performance, well built
Cons —
none so far

| “20v Turbo” This is my first VW, gotta love the 1.8 20V Turbo, pretty fast little car and also sporty, I've hit 134MPH in it. You can still feel the turbo at those high speeds too. Gets about 30MPG, my only complaint is that the check engine light comes on quite often.
Pros —
Turbo
Cons —
CEL

| “Funnest Car I Have Owned!” My car has been highly customizable so far and I had taken advantage of that. With the turbo upgrade coming soon it will compliment the addons already present. Without throwing it up on a dyno I would guess that I am producing 265hp at the crank and maybe more than that in torque. The car handles well and feels very solid.
Pros —
Upgradable and smart design
Cons —
a couple electrical quirks
|
| “2001 Wolfsberg” Great car until the warranty ran out then it was nothing but trouble.
Pros —
handling, acceleration
Cons —
electrical problems
|
| “Love My Car” awesome car, great acceleration and looks
Pros —
suspension and the turbo charger
Cons —
the cup holders
|
| “Too Many Recall Notices.”
Wolfsburg has a turbo charger. Dealship kept on refusing that there was something wrong.
Pros —
Great when brand new.
Cons —
Steep down hill after 6 months.
|
| “It's Out Dated”
It's been a good reliable car... except when the fuel pump died. Still like Audi much better
Pros —
Good in the winter with snow tires
Cons —
No leather in the Wolfsburg Ed.

| “Hot!” Slight understeer, turbo lag needs improving, should have had more stock horsepower, and a short throw shift 6speed
Pros —
fast for 150hp!
Cons —
Slight understeer

| “Wolfsberg Is Where Its At” The Wolfsberg Edition Jetta is exactly what a Jetta should be. A four door sedan with a tight suspension and a monsoon audio system to lure the driver to go on a cruise. Even though the Jetta is front-wheel drive the sport-tuned suspension was toght enough to make it feel sporty.
Pros —
Monsoon Audio. BBS rims and a sport-tuned suspension
Cons —
Needs a little more omph.
