| “2006 Mkv Gti”
*Performance is fairly good. Acceleration with the DSG transmission is pretty good, and the brakes do a decent job of bring the car to a halt. Handling is very good, given the high ride height and stance on the car.
Pros —
Fun to drive, DSG trans is farily good, decent fuel economy [on 93 octane], low end torque.
Cons —
Dealer network & knowledge is BAD, DSG trips itself up frequently, TSBs not getting fixed [thanks to knowledgeless dealers], modifications [if desired] are expensive and *can* cause more problems.

| “Probably The Best Bang For The Buck” May be the best combination of performance, style, safety, quality, gas mileage for the price. Semi-automatic DSG is a blast as you flick through the gears with the sterring wheel mounted gear levers. Excellent grip even with the 17 inch wheels and 45 series all-weather performance tires. I can only imagine what it would be like with the optional 18 inch wheels with summer tires. Somehow VW has managed to make the car handle relatively neutral, not easy for a front-drive car. Torque steer is minimal as well. 75 MPH through dead man's curve!

| “Vw Gti” Fun car. Best FWD hot hatch with a turbo 4 cyl. The build quality is very good. The car performs great and responds excellently to modifications. Car is cheap to own and maintain, but still extremely fun to drive. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good time with these high gas prices.

Few can figure out how to work the front seats

| “Gti” Love the car but hate the look of the back end!! VW knows how to make a killer car ... love those Germans!! The interior lighting is a killer ... love the blue and red. Can't wait for Audi to adapt the same!!

| “My Fast Likes The Windows Down!!!!!” This was my first new car purchase and all that I have to say is I've been extremely pleased with this little performer!!! It has everything you'd want in an automobile, a refined interior with plenty of space for occupants and cargo, a wonderful powertrain to get you moving QUICK, and most of all it's fuel economy puts it in the same league as gas savers!! Volkswagen really hit the mark with this one, what are you waiting for test drive one today and find out for yourself!!!!

| “Go Fast Juice!” If you want a sporty car with looks and speed, look no further than the new MkV GTI! This thing is avail. with the DSG (Dual Sequential Gearbox) transmission (similar to F1 Racing) and as far as I'm concerned - the only tranny worth getting! 200hp standard, this "pocket rocket" will keep up with and out run some of today's hottest cars! I oughtta know - I drove one!

| “I Love This Car! Fast,fun And Good On Gas.” I have owned my GTI since 2006 and have had no problems with it. It has a 2.0 FSI Turbo engine with intercooler. Stock the car has 200hp/206tq. I upgrade mine with an Audi Performance and Racing tune and now have 263hp/303tq which in a small car like this is really impressive. I haven't run it at a track yet but I expect it to run in the high 13's low 14's. I have also installed Neuspeed lowering springs and did a resonator delete. My next upgrade will be a Neuspeed P-flow intake and I'm planning on getting a high performance downpipe . With those upgrades done and my chip upgraded to stage 2 I should be close to 300hp. The interior is plaid which is a tribute to the original GTI. The steering wheel is problably the nicest I've ever seen outside of an exotic. I've become spoiled by the HID headlights super bright and headlight washers too. To keep me out of trouble I have installed an Escort Passport 8500 X50 Radar Detector. I have run the car up to 130mph and it was rock solid and still accelerating hard. Others with my same tune say 155 is the top speed. On my last trip to New Jersey I got 30mpg on the interstate with 2 passengers, 2 dogs and luggage. I would recommend this car to any German car enthusiast bang for the buck it can't be beat.
