This car I originally bought as a winter beater, and soon realized it had a lot more potential than dealing with the Michigan winters. It was actually a pretty quick car for what it was thanks to the engine having a high redline and a prehistoric version of VVT. You could event get this car with an all wheel drive option.
Pros:
Reliable, quick, cheap, fun.
Cons:
Hard to find one in good condition.

Another great, cheap car I got. I bought it as a winterbeater, and realized it was worthy of much more. The 4 cylinder had a prehistoric version of VVT. It had about 190,00 mile on it, went through no oil, went to red line with no problem. Cool, hard car to find, and cheap. Money well spent
Pros:
Reliable, sporty, and fun for really cheap
Cons:
Rust, paint, thats about it.
